ARR worked as key board player to raja in moondram pirai and that was his first film.punnagai mannan was his last film and theme score of that film was the last for which ARR worked for IR .THIS WAS SOLELY THE CONTRIBUTION BY MAESTRO. song was shot in mysore and audio recording at midnight in mumbai. had it been ARR's scoring such a beautiful violin synchrony could never be there and he would hav broken our ears by playing 2,200000 drums !

The beauty of this song is the lyrics of the last piece is from a popular poem in Tamil literature. This used to be in 10th std Tamil syllabus. Manirathnam gets great music from Ilayaraja, I mean in a different level. Still green. These songs were composed in a very very short time. Ilayaraja used to compose 2 or 3 songs in one day. We are blessed to have a genius like him. For people who are comparing Ilayaraja with ARR, Graham Bell found the telephone, But now we are using mobile phones,that doesn't mean that current scientists are better than Graham Bell. There is no point in comparison. They are different generation.
