Mike Slamer is woefully underrated!
How 'bout Dave Manion, with not one, but TWO smoking keyboard solos in one song! That's just unheard of! & let's face it - ALL of these dudes are MONSTER players!!!
Unfortunately I will have to say virtually unknown...but those who have been following his career since his days in City Boy have not ever underrated him.
@@guitarworks2546 well,...he’s underrated because he’s virtually unknown. I thought that was pretty clear.
Fab! Slamer was, is, and will always be: a genius!
Thankfully for two uncredited, amazing, shred oozing Warrant albums I actually know who he is. Dude is nothing short of amazing. It's not just in his speed, it's in his phrasing of every note.
TIGHT , TRUE TO FORM , HARMONIOUS MAGIC!!!!! MORE PLEASE!!!!! IN ADDITION , MY 85 YEAR OLD MOTHER WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS IN A FULL CONCERT!!! (HER WORDS)!!!!!
Still listening in 2022.
Please don't hate on my comment but I intend it as a compliment. This is very reminiscent of Kansas and Perfect Lover when John Elefante was with them. This type of music is gone from any mainstream these days sad to say.
Funny. Billy is the bass player for Kansas. 😂
OMG!!! Where have these guys been hiding? Why haven't I heard them before today? This is awesome!!!
Dave Manion, brother you nailed this performance, I don't even wanna know how many takes it took, mastery is what we were left with.. carry on my wayward son...Billy your harmony is always true, thanks for your persistence in excellence. Mike.. well enuff said, your the bar which all others must study, and if they are lucky, after 30 years of playing they can match you. But I doubt it. Thank you all for this masterpiece that is on display now.
David Manion is a bad-ass player. That can not be denied but he did not play the keyboard parts on this song. I have no doubt that he could. This video is a "lip synch" so to speak. The keyboards are played by Mike Slamer.
No No dude...Slamer is , and has always been , one of the world's most talented guitar players . Please check out his work with Steelhouse Lane , too!
@@rickyon Thanks for explaining that Rick ☺ I've been watching this and was so amazed at the organ player ( I guess that's Dave? ) Because he is really getting into it and I think that the real musician who played it should be recognized. It's a totally awesome song, I didn't know Slamer could write songs this good! My hat is off to him!
who are the crazy people who don't like this song!!!! pfffffffffffff it's a master piece.....
23 deaf idiots
DEF a masterpiece!!!
Unison at the end is so epic.
They are great musicians. No casting stuff. They rock the house. Everybody who likes Kansas must like this too.
Love this! Great to see my old friend Mike Slamer and Billy Trudel still making GREAT music!
*GOOD MUSIC, GOOD MELODY & GOOD MUSICIANS WILL SURVIVE!!!*
Best prog rock i've heard in a long time
its not prog its aor
David M is incredible on Key boards!!
It is amazing how good musicians find each other. City Boy, Kansas, and Queen were three of my favorite bands. I understand Kansas opened for Queen for several concerts. Somehow an English guitar player (Mike Slamer) ended up playing in Streets with Steve Walsh from Kansas. I saw Billy Greer and Kansas play their reunion concert with Kerry Livgren in Topeka and have the live DVD. Good music lives on!
what an amazing 6/4 6/8 groove with Mr Slamer playing like no one else can, superb playing and singing by everyone.
Lord, excellent musicians... songs for eternity... great
Dave Minion really showcased his talents in this song, Well done Mike Slamer,You continue to amaze us all, Billy Greer, great vocals and bass was crisp as well,Billy Trudel from Elton John's band, very nice backing vocals.. Although I enjoy Pat Mcdonald on drums, Chet Wynd did an awesome job on this one. All around best song of the year, you guys need airtime!!!!!
Thats Eric Holmquist behind the kit
Great stuff, very much a Kansas vibe going on !
Brilliant band!!!!
Wow, these people can really ROCK!!! Billy Greer, the magic is still with you 👏 💕 In my heart I am certain that for you and Steve Walsh it always will be. 😊 💞
Still one of the best song... ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful!!!! The harmonies are right on and Billy's voice is always beyond amazing.
Absolutely fantastic...definitely has the Kansas feel to it!
These guys kick serious ass. I'd play with these guys in a heart beat!
Que vocal top !!!!
e o som bem loco tbm remember de volta aos nos 80..
Long wait but worth it!
Mike Slamer is back, I love his style so much, already pe-ordered.
Thoth led me here , much thanks.
Seventh key.? YES!! 👍
The old pros showing the artistic precision that has been all but lost as the generation of "I should get it all for free" throws the same level of effort into their music. This is an arrangement with a high level of difficulty, and is damn hard to play. Not just the solos, but the rhythms, counter-rhythms, and that cooler than cool, seamless transition from 6 over 2 to 6/8 for the chorus. Can't sing enough praise (not that my opinion matters anyway). Keep it coming. Someday someone from a future archaeological dig will figure out how to play this and be just as blown away!
Maybe the discovery you talk about will take place in the year 2112.
good to see someone with knowledge of music theory (time signatures) are paying attention to these old pros-this is a superb composition-there are other examples on the two previous 7th key albums greer and manion were an excellent addition to Kansas
Kurt Cpi you kidding me?? Musicians have only gotten waay better since the 70s bands today embarrass bands like yes and genesis try haken dream theater between the buried and me animals as leaders they’re insane musicians
yes!! they are masters of masters!!!Incredible muscicians!!! gOds...
+Kurt Cpi Very well said! Thanks for putting that into words because I had no idea how to say it...those rhythms, counter-rhythms etc are what grabbed ahold of me and wouldn't let go. I have loved Steve Walsh forever and that led me to Streets. But I had no idea Mike Slamer could write such fantastic songs until I found Seventh Key, and I am hooked... Billy's voice lights up every song!!
Dang! Why am I just hearing about these guys? Wow!
What an awesome song.
Billy Greer is as nice of a man as he is a wonderful musician, and he is one heck of a great musician.
Masterpiece!
I think you need to give credit to Eric Holmquist for playing drums in this video! The guy in an outstanding drummer in his own right on top of being the drum tech for the band Kansas!!
Amen brother!!!
Oh absolutely, that drummer is a 🔥 player and he rocks!!
No argument from me - Eric is rock-solid throughout & can tell he's just LOVING this track! Top notch work from all the guys!
@@karenstepp669 Definitely, another Stepp agrees!
in 2022,they should put another out
Kick ass!!!!
yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just peed on myself... fantastically and magically on cue... Nothing nowadays comes anywhere near this group. I hope they rock until forever so the new gen can pick on this lost art... And, btw, did you just hear that guitar-sounding solo on the keyboard? Yanni's keyboardists would be schooled by David Manion! Heck, even Jordan Rudess (no disrespect intended) might pick a few tips! Even the great Mike" Slamer seemed to enjoy it, yielding to him with great respect... WOW
THIS IS AWESOME PLAYING! Everyone! But need to mention the outstanding keyboards solo merging into a fantastic guitar keys dialog. The drummer as well amazing. Thanks! A dream!
Very good ! Sounds like Jimmy Shields on Keyboards, Avatar, Kansas, good King Crimson, Adrian Belew roots......Thanks Billy !!! Good to see your face. Wish i could give you a big East Tennessee Hug and a smile !!! Love you man ! : )
Still listening to this, can't get enough! 7thK rocks!
Wow!! Just wow! That knocked me on my ass.
That's it....reminds me of Kansas....great musicians, vocals, guitarist, drummer kicks arse! Let's not forget the magic fingers on the keys!
Amazing the first time I heard it and just as amazing now! So proud of you guys!
Love it! That KANSAS sound!
Agree with Sammy Wright.....sounds good! Solid!
That last minute is magical!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is ridiculous crazy good.
Outstanding Billy ... GPH
Awesome! One of my fav bands!!
me too
Holy shit, this song rules.
Mr Slamer one of the best about
It's nice to see Phil Ehart's tech/apprentice playing the drums, good music, perhaps we'll see some of this music incorporated into Kansas's next album
Awesome music!!!!!!!!!!!11
Simply the BEST these days!
Chilly bumps!
Nights unending, doom impending
Seemed like nowhere left to turn
Unforgiven, I`ve been living
Life on edge --- with bridges burned
Over thinking, I keep sinking
Into deep and dark despair
All my sences, my defenses
Feel the danger in the air
I`m no stranger to the danger, face it every day
Always changing, rearranging, got to get away
With the weight of the world on my shoulder, living life on the run day to day.
And there`s nothing but lies as I say my goodbyes, I will survive.
World of wonder going under
Always come as no surprise
Never linger, trigger finger
Signs begin to fill my eyes
I`m no stranger to the danger, face it every day
Always changing, rearranging, got to get away
With the weight of the world on my shoulder, living life on the run day to day.
And there`s nothing but lies as I say my goodbyes, I will survive.
This song should have shot to the top.
This is a classic song and video that is simple but highlights the prowess of these players. Simply classic AOR. Mike Slamer is an underrated guitar hero. His 2 albums with Terry Brock are simply classics.
i realy love this song good job

This album was incredible and wish we would get another New Album since this one was so perfect....
It says in the Credits the Drummer is Chet Wynd, but in the Video the Drummer is Eric Holmquist. Great Job Eric!

They look like a group of guys you'd find hanging out at a local tavern, but they sound amazing.
More than i expected !!!!!!
Great !!!!!
Love it!!!
Superb sounding. Killer Band.
I just noticed in the 3/18/15 Kansas concert in KC that Greer and Dave Minion were playing with Kansas along with the new singer (who is pretty good).I'd love to see Mike Slamer play with Kansas.
Fantastic! I really enjoyed it!
This reminds me of Kansas. Sounds great!
