"It's not even our opinion, it's objective." Jamie the Empress 2024. Can't argue with that! Most pleased by Viticulture and Fantasy Realms on this list, I will save Skull King to play for the first time with y'all lo
As always Jamie and Jeff you have me rolling in laugher in the best possible way. Your videos bring so much joy and bring me in and are so engaging. Great list of games! 😊
@@FostertheMeeple I’ve painted Sinbad and King Arthur (from Battle of Legends Vol I) and most content how Sinbad turned out. Especially because it is one of my first miniatures. Also painted a few miniatures from Merchants Cove. The miniatures from Unmatched are paint ready and that makes it easier to start with. All the other miniatures need priming and highlighting.
Thanks for the video. I am very glad to see Awkward Guests is getting attention and love here. If definitely deserves it. It's intelligent and fun deduction game. I love it!
Nice list, believe it or not ghost stories is the game that got my kids in the hobby. I had it on one shelf for many years without really playing it, and when covid struck in 2020 we got to stay at home for several weeks and I got that game out. My kids 7yo and 9yi at that time got it very quickly, the game is hard but the iconography works well. Another game we have (recent acquisition) is fantasy realms, simple and puzzly.
Jeff - I feel the same way about Scythe. It was the third modern board game I played and the first one I fell in love with. I fell hard and bought everything Scythe. I don’t play it as often as I would like (because so many games now, of course) but it will always have a special place in my nerd heart. I have mostly played at 2, as with most games, because my husband and I didn’t know anyone else who played games. Love it at 2. Love it at 3 or 4. That’s all I’ve played so far! Love your videos and your dynamic. You guys make me laugh. Thank you.
It's always interesting to see how games rise or fall in your lists year to year. I think if I were to make my own Top 50, then do it again even a few months later, the lists would look very different. There are just SO MANY great games out there, and it can be tough to compare how much you love a new favorite that you are playing a lot right now with an old favorite you haven't touched in a while. Looking forward to the rest of your lists!
Jeff said he thought (omg, now I can't even remember which game it was lol) a game would be in his top 20. I really feel like when you play so many games top 50 is like a regular players top 10. I should be like, top 10% or something. My top 30 or 40 are all my go to games that I would consider my absolute favorite! -Jen
Jeff, when the space version of Undaunted hits, I believe it will definitely be in your top 20! Jaime, I real need to find Black Sonata! I play mostly solo, but it is on my grail games list. Looking forward to the next 10!
Really want to try: Awkward Guests, Heat, Undaunted & Cuba Libre. Biggest suprise I had this year was Caylus 1303, great game. Can't wait for your next 30-21 list. Some of my favorites: 31 Sleeping Gods 32 Mosaic: A Story of Civilization 33 Teotihuacan: City of Gods 34 Five Tribes: The Djinns of Naqala 35 Bruges 36 Marco Polo II: In the Service of the Khan 37 Vinhos: Deluxe Edition 38 Clash of Cultures: Monumental Edition 39 Endeavor: Age of Sail 40 Praga Caput Regni
Correction: Mermaids beat Skull King, Pirates beat mermaids, Skill King beats pirates. If all three are played in the same trick, mermaid wins. Do you play with pirate abilities?
Enjoy seeing the graphic that shows the rank of the game in the previous year. I also really enjoy Undaunted but have also only played Normandy and would love to play Stalingrad. I feel that 2 player only games kind of get the shaft for me because I would rather play games with 3 or more people at the table, so they are already at a disadvantage in my top 100 rankings. They do work out well on BGA though. I have 7 in my top 100 with War Chest being my favorite at #14.
It so exciting your favourite games as we do ours! Great to see some love for Stardew Valley. Jeff you talk about Watergate so enthusiastically, we should give it a try. Not picked it up due to a lack of knowledge of what happened in rea life, but doesn't seem that that matters too much. Slightly surprised Scythe and Undaunted weren't higher (but spoiler warning) the series haven't made either of our lists yet! . We also favour Red Rising over Fantasy Realms.
There will be a Black Sonata reprint/crowdfunding with new expansion that will start either 1 April or 8 April (date for crowdfunder mentioned today on BGG)!
Ooo, such a good list! Unmatched needs no introduction at this point, and Ghost Stories is the most fun I think I've had getting my butt kicked by a game (Zee on the Dice Tower breaks my heart because he puts Last Bastion higher, and the mechanics are a little smoother... but that Japanese ghost theme, though!!!). As a mainly-2p-household, I sympathize with the challenge of tabling Scythe and Rising Sun; Scythe at least can be played at 2 even if it's a different experience, but Rising Sun... I don't think I could ever part my copy even if I never played it again. Such a gorgeous game, always like to see it get some love in these lists.
I think this is the video where Jamie mentioned that she likes logic deduction games, which I also enjoy myself. (I've been binging videos today, so Icr.😅) The Shipwreck Arcana is co-op and great even at just 2 players.
Watergate is VEEERY good - ended up being my #40 this year so very close to Jeff. Maybe I'm the only one out there who was actually DRAWN to the theme 🤣
For Heat, have you played at different player counts? Is there a perfect number for you? I own it, but it sits on my shelf because I am afraid it’s not good at two and maybe needs like 4+ players.
We’ve played Heat at 2,4,5! Have enjoyed it at all player counts. The AI is really good in the game. Can’t say whether or not it would work for you though!
"It's not even our opinion, it's objective." Jamie the Empress 2024. Can't argue with that! Most pleased by Viticulture and Fantasy Realms on this list, I will save Skull King to play for the first time with y'all lo
Yes!!! Let’s do it!
Every pick is just like: “yup I agree” or “OH I wanna try that!” Great picks yall. Also, long live the polyominos!
You should try world wonder!
As always Jamie and Jeff you have me rolling in laugher in the best possible way. Your videos bring so much joy and bring me in and are so engaging. Great list of games! 😊
Thanks so much James!!
Recently started with painting miniatures and started with Unmatched. Just bought some new boxes 😁 (including Tales to Amaze).
Ohhh what ones are you enjoying painting the most so far?

Heat pedal to the metal is such a good game. I’m ready for the expansion!
Same here!!
Thanks for the video.

It’s such an awesome experience!! Love it

Been waiting for the next set of the top 50!! Looking forward to the rest of the list!
Wooo! Hope you enjoy
My favorite set are the raptors - I named one Kanga, followed by momma Trex :)
LOL. That’s amazing

It’s not easy to rank that’s for sure!
Whoa! Shocked that Undaunted has fallen so far for you Jeff! Can’t wait to see the rest of your guys’ list - especially the top 10.
I know. I think I probably should have brought that one up higher but man there’s so many good games. Anything top 50 is elite level IMO
I love your board game selection and I'm here for it!
Thanks so much!
Fantasy Realms is one that I didn't think was going to be that great. But I always want to play one more round. So much fun!
It’s addictive for sure!
WOW; you have one the most paradoxical taste in board games. So many light and cute games, and suddenly Cuba Libre :)))
We are very much omni gamers!

That’s a reallllyyyy good point. Top 50 of 700+ is pretty stellar.
@@FostertheMeeple Right?? We've played like 1000 games. Top 50 is the top 5%!

Honestly it probably should be in there already. It’s definitely one I feel the most unsettled about. But yea, Callisto is gonna be awesome

Omg Cthulu dropped! Def a fun game will never regret playing it

Really enjoyed this thank you! How is heat at 2 player? 😊
We had a good time with it! The AI was very fast haha
Great games on this video, love it! Jeff I am digging the new hat man.. what does the M R stand for?
It’s a Moonrakers hat from IV Studios!
Great series! Don't listen to the haters, tho the face Jamie makes when you name a game...
Hahah Jamie has earned the right to hate
Holy cow Unmatched that low! It's in contention for my favorite of all time!!

Stardew Valley ❤️
It's so sad that you must have such speech at the beginning :(
Trust me, we agree haha
Waiting in Top 30 😅 is there a release date?
Tuesday!!
Pretty sad when you need a "every bodies opinion is different and that's okay" disclaimer in every video but that is the world we live in in 2024...
Unfortunately bad eggs are rampant
Ok 🔥🔥🔥
