These animatronics are really rare. Most CEC locations have 3 stage animatronics, but finding these animatronics is something a CEC fan would really like find.
uhhh there are 9 “3 stages” left and there are around 24 of these
False. There are 8 3-Stages left, all in the US scattered around. There are 3 "CU 1-Stages" which use the 3-Stage animatronics, but they too are scattered around (1 in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, 1 in Columbus, Georgia, and 1 in Springfield, Illinois). There are 17 2-Stages and 23 1-Stages (all in the US, except for a 2-Stage in Willowdale, Ontario, Canada, and 2 1-Stages in Las Condes and Plaza Oeste, Santiago, Chile.) and 7 Road Stages (5 in California, 1 in North Carolina, and 1 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.)

As someone who had studied the history of Check E. Cheese (especially the animatronics) back in 4th grade, I do very much appreciate you making your own document on the animatronics and the 2000s part of Chuck E Cheese's history
Fun fact: There also used to be other animatronics back in the 80s like a lion, hippo, a dog band, and a camera!
The lion (the king) and the dog band (the Beagles) can actually be seen today in the Volo Auto Museum!
This specific location didn't have them. They were probably other stores though.
The camera is called pizzacam and was exclusive to showbiz stores in the 1990s

I was terrified of the animatronics when I was a kid, now I appreciate them and their history, sucks that they’re getting rid of them in all locations. Also surprised to is wasn’t called “THE OOOOOOOLDEST CHUCK E CHEESE”! 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸
Really appreciate this documentation! I love all the different decorations on the wall, and I wish my location still had them. My Chuck E. Cheese location isn’t bad, but it’s really, really bland in comparison to the older layout. I do really miss the animatronics and the playground, so it’s nice to see that yours at least still has the animatronics
It’s just sad that things from my childhood that I took for granted and thought would be around forever aren’t gonna even be known by my kids.
Old Timer here. I remember going to Chuck E. Cheese's during the early '80s. Our local Chuck E's had the original animatronics, including a piano-playing moose named Artie Antlers. There used to be a walk-around costumed version of the old Chuck E with the red derby hat. I remember he even carried around a plastic cigar(!)
It always tickled me how much Mr. Munch looked like a mash-up of McDonald's Grimace and Sesame Street's Cookie Monster...

Ah, Chuck E. Cheese’s! I remember back in ‘89 when I was 7, I went to a birthday party with my fraternal twin brother to one way out in the boonies (I forgot where). I was able to sneak on stage just before showtime, and when the curtains parted I was standing on stage with my back to the audience.
I turned around and shouted “HEL-LOOOO, Chuck E. Cheese’s! Are you ready to ROCK!?”. The kids cheered and the staff nearly had a heart attack. I started dancing g along to the music as the animatronics and the music played. When the staff ran up to me to make me get off the stage, I dived into the crowd, fortunately my brother and his buddies caught me.
After the party, me and my bro were take to the manager’s office and received a thorough chewing out by him, and I was banned from that CEC location. After what I had done, they had to install a short railing on the stage behind the curtains, with an outward swinging, self closing gate for maintenance.
The place closed down years later, God knows what happened to it, but it was a hilarious memory that my brother and our classmates enjoyed.
TL/DR, when I was 7 back in ‘89 I sneaked onto the stage of CEC and danced by the animatronics. The staff tried to stop me and I dived into the crowd and was caught with my brother and our friends’ help. I got banned from the location, they put in a railing on the stage behind the curtains because of me, place is closed/gone now.
I remember the animatronics as a kid and it made me smile when they sang thats a nostalgia trip for my childhood 🐸

This location (Cherry Hill, New Jersey) will be starting a major remodel on July 10th, 2023. They will remove the animatronic stage for a recessed LED dance floor and a large video wall. Cherry Hill is the last 2-Stage in the stage of New Jersey (After Union (Which received a Studio C Beta, 16M in the 2000s and closed in 2019, they will be opening a new store later in May 2023) and Brick (Which also received a Studio C Beta, 16M in the 2000s. They are still open and will be starting their major remodel like Cherry Hill on June 26th, 2023). After Cherry Hill removes their 2-Stage, Middletown will be the last MMBB stage in New Jersey, in which they have a 1-Stage (the last remaining of 6 1-Stages installed in New Jersey, the others being Paramus (closed in 2010 and relocated to a new store with a Studio C Beta, 16M in 2011, that store will start their major remodel on July 3rd, 2023), Deptford (Opened in 1991 with a Road Stage, replaced in 1995 with a 1-Stage, before getting 2.0 in December 2022), Edison (received 2.0 in October 2022), East Hanover (received 2.0 in October 2022), and North Bergen (received 2.0 in October 2022)
Ah Cherry.. what a wonderful location. I go to this store whenever I want to see a show other than my personal show. This store is very nice and the characters are in great shape although chucks jaw seems a little messed up. Great video.

I have vague memories of being in a Chuck E. Cheese arcade area, where the room was old-looking. The memory is so vague, I don't know if it is actually a memory, dream, or from a movie.
In the ‘80s the arcade area was mostly stand-up arcade games, with a few sit-down cabinets like the vector graphics Star Wars and some Skee-Ball.
Last time I went to my local Chuck E Cheese that used to be a PTT, I forgot how small the location was, and the animatronics must have been fixed since then, because they were in bad condition when I was there. I thought they would be more popular because of FNAF (which I have my opinions about,) but change can be good sometimes. In CEC's case, I dont think so

It's crazy to me because in MN we had "Circus Pizza" which was a chain with quite a few locations in the twin cities that had The Rock-A-Fire Explosion band. One even had the rare 2.0 setup where they were standing on a rotating turntable. I had no idea they were from the 80s or a place called Showbiz Pizza place and none of them went through "concept unification" so seeing the converted animatronics in these videos just looks so weird to me. When we finally did get the relaunched Chuck E. Cheese locations they were the Studio C ones I think so it seems we skipped over the weird phase in the middle.

Hey wanna know a Chuck E. Cheese that is super old? The one in northridge California, it is a phase 3 that hasn’t been changed since the 90s.
This CEC is almost exactly like my own. Mine's just a little bit bigger. Honestly, removing the animatronics from the newer up to date locations is one the biggest L's this franchise could've taken, like it's not bad enough already. Now it's just a bland clone of Peter Piper's pizza. (Which is a company they already own.)

Agreed I love the animatronics as well my godmother's son had his birthday Eddie local Chuck-E-Cheese which were talking this was years years ago before the announcement was made that animatronics would go extinct throughout the company I always fond of them fascinating I don't know why I just did it's probably one reason why I love the video game FNAF I feel like that's the only way kids would fine animatronics interesting in this world nowadays is through this game but yeah do you know tracks never scared me oh yeah and I remember one more thing I can remember my dad and stepmom taking me to a Chucky cheeses for fun now for a birthday party for someone or anything it was just for fun.

Chuck E. Cheese was my childhood to I stopped going when they made Chuck E look more like a cartoon than animatronic
They're getting rid of all the animatronics and replacing them with a dance floor where the mascots dance and "preform" on it and a huge tv screen built-in where the stage used to be, my local one is like that and its not as busy as it used to be when they had the animatronics.

Did you know or notice that the drum set the chef was playing was The Rock-a-Fire explosion drum set! 💥 Because that’s what I noticed as well! Also I think that it’s very cool that this location is deciding to keep the animatronic band! Because Studio C is okay! 😐 But the dance floor sucks! 😡😤👎🏻 I think the animatronic band was a better feature at Chuck E Cheese’s! 😄😍🤩👍🏻❤️
My Chuck E. Cheese that I go to has the 1997-2004 logo, but in the inside it is still modern. They only have 1 animatronic, and that’s Chuck E. Cheese himself. They don’t use him anymore.
