i bought my first SLR in '76, a Mnolta 202 (i think).
for the next 20 years i struggled with flash. i took notes of my settings, and shot alot. then took the film to be developed. a week later i tried to learn from my notes with not much success.
then in the 2000's i bought my first Dslr, and soon a speedlight.
man-o-man,, i door opened and the lights came on! the learning curve for flash dropped like a rock!
now i am a flash-o-holic. i have a whole bunch of lights, modifiers and doo-dads and can't get enough of learning!

Yay that’s so great you love flash now!!! I don’t actually own a speed light but have used it before in courses and stuff, they’re so great! What sort of things do you photograph?
