Electro Pop Tutorial: Owl City - Cave in Remake

Over the next few tutorials, I'll be teaching you how to make an Electro Pop song using Owl City's song "Cave in" as an example. This tutorial series was requested by Andrew, so in true british producer style, big ups to him!
In this video, I'll play through the song and put annotations linking to the tutorials on how to make different sounds in the track.

Well take into account, he's using reason 4, this was almost 3 years ago, and then you have the audio damaging process of both capturing the audio from the screen capture program, then uploading it to youtube. His productions now sound nothing short of professional.

do you actually take each sound(instrument) and have to play it to make the song? or what? my biggest thing is how do random people know all the tracks to a full song perfectly? they sound so good.i geuss i havent explored enough programs or something

im beginner but i had classes to learn reason , and know im ok with software but when im listening song i cant analys it or remake it , can you help me what should i do to fix it .

You right click on the notes you created and click quantize, that clicks all the notes to your tempo grid then if you need to edit them slightly you can do so with ease!

@OceansToCross its a nx whateveritscalled sampler sampling strings would be my best guess. just find the preset you like. the preset string samples are all pretty good.
@MichelleHale992 kinda'. I noticed a load of things that were a good bit off. but overall it's still pretty awesome and cool to see an instrumental. i almost prefer it over the original.
@ZeranZeran. I have seen a screen shot of the actual project. I know this because I have seen it in Adam Young's blog.

+Mr. JaY PlayZ Latest version now is 8. 9 is coming out in June though. This was Reason 4 I believe.

It looks like it's reason 4. But since this video there's been a lot of new versions of the software. Check out the propellerheads website, they're the ones that make Reason :3
i just got trial of reason,can i use my pc keyboard to play some notes?Because it doesnt work like in fl studio :S

I don't have a midi keyboard yet but i have reason..
I'm just wondering how can I make music on reason using that virtual midi keyboard because when I push a key on my keyboard , it sounds but I think it has a delay of 0.5 seconds... I'm really doing my best but it really annoys me because it won't synchronize at the exact time when I push a note... :(
