100% agree on your opinion, he's the greatest ever. if you talk about goats all of them had impacted and influenced each other and Nas, Jay, Em, Ye, 3k etc have built the road for him to be able to do what he does. but Hip Hop or rap music had never had such a prodigy he's level of artistry, use of concept, technical skill, voice control, and versatility. unmatched. Great video
My thing is Cole delivers in way where even new hip hop heads can understand where as for Kendrick you gotta think just a little bit more to make those connections
@@Conceited_ they both they own type of rapper, I like Cole for his musicality and relatability, Kendrick I love the WAY he manipulates music and his influences to send a message, both are extremely good, just different
I became a Kendrick fan when I first heard of him around Overly Dedicated. I immediately knew he had something. When Section 80 Dropped I felt it! I knew he would be one at the top by his next project. I love seeing his growth. Him and every person he mentioned in the control vs are some beasts in the world of this new age hip hop!
Kendrick became my favorite rapper of all time when he dropped overly dedicated and i just knew at that time he had the potential to be the greatest. Been telling everyone since section .80 he's the goat and I still say it till this day
I went to the DAMN tour in philly and it was my first time seeing him perform. Needless to say, anytime he came back to the east coast since then I made it my mission to catch another live show.
Kendrick is the type of dude that, if I ever met them, I would just want to say thank you to them and give them a teary-eyed hug. I started listening to him when I saw the Rigamortis video and it is crazy how far he has come.
Kendrick likes giving other independent artists space. During Covid you had a LOT of people no one knew dropping shit no one had ever heard, he didnt wanna outshine them, thatd be a drake move.
Honest to god I have never seen a rap artist with legendary work ethic since Kanye. I think Kendrick is one of the only rappers to really have that mamba mentality.
Finished the documentary. DAMN! the beautiful narration to the hard work put into this doc. Has to be my favourite one you've made i'm sorry Aaron the 🐐
Its krazy u make this video and he LITERALLY just became my #1 rapper in my top 5 lol i move him up every year on god A RAPPER THAT TAKE TIME ON PROJECTS JUST FOR THEM TO SOUND AMAZING IS AWESOME 💯🔥Kdot music saved me recently thru mental breakdowns ! When TPAB came out i was 20 i didnt quite understand it BUT NOW that album speaks volume it’s possibly the best hip hop album ever
Went to his Big Steppers show in Olso, and i have to say, the absolute best moment I've had in my life. Hope i get to see him again some time. Awesome video
Your documentaries are my favorite on CZcams bro keep it up !! I know its in the cards based on your previous ones, but I’d love to see a Tyler the Creator Doc!
Great video man. I got into hip-hop in the very early 90s, back in the day when you had to physically go by the album. Literally got into it right as Death Row was launching. And really from 91 to probably 2006 or 2007 I consider that like my era of hip-hop as far as when I was tuned in the most to it and watching every album that came out like during that time, it was probably like once a month or at least every other month I was buying new albums. Honestly, by the end of the 2000s the rappers that were coming out at the time I really wasn’t fucking with. I didn’t like most new rappers it seem to me it was all just beats and hooks and I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that but there was nobody really adding anything with depth, and there was like no more lyricist That we’re getting any attention. Sure they were lyricist, but it was almost like a bad if you were lyrical and had a message when everyone else just making club songs and drinking lean. If it wasn’t for Kendrick Lamar, I would never have gotten into this generation of hip-hop. Like you, my first Kendrick Lamar song I ever heard, was swimming pool pools, and it blew me away. I don’t think I can ever pick a goat because there’s so many different styles and different genres and are you talking about lyricism or just making great songs or whatever so picking the greatest rapper in history of the last 50 years I just think that’s impossible. But I can say, without a doubt that Kendrick Lamar is the best of his generation. I know Drake has more albums and good for him, MC Hammer and vanilla ice both out sold Tupac . But we would never dare say either of them mean more to hip-hop than Tupac does. Kendra has become one of those artist like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Eminem, Tech N9ne , etc. For me that every time he drops an album he’s already earned it with me so I don’t have to hear the single if he put out an album I know it’s going to be worth the money and I will buy a physical copy. I can’t imagine hip-hop in 2024 without his influence. We didn’t really have anybody that was really trying do hip-hop for more reasons than other just trying to get women and money, and then Kendrick Lamar comes along and really showed the rest of his generation, how to utilize hip-hop, and get more out of it than just women and money.
People complained about DAMN being too commercial and when MM&TBS dropped people complained about the album having "no replay value" lol I don't blame people for being disappointed and not liking this album but a lot of people jumped on the hate bandwagon and called it trash just to be different, it's like their opinions are the only ones that really matter and anyone liking this album is either lying or is just a "delusional Kendrick stan" smh it wasn't even Kendrick's intention to make hits/bangers for people to get "hype" to. I subscribed btw, good vid.👊🏾
No ppl like what they like & has a right to critique art, each Kendrick album lives in its own world so ppl are gonna automatically based it off previous projects they liked
incredible content you got in there; not an easy task to make such a documentary but you made that look flawless. some of my favorite Lamar's songs are A.D.H.D, Swimming Pools and the most recent one, Silent Hill. what was it you were saying about the greatest rapper of all time? i can disagree on that - Eminem, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg?
I remember finding out about him back in 2009 through J rock and my nephew showing me his mp3 download on his ipod and listening to this day my favorite song Micheal Jordan and being like oh he is dope af and from the city 👏 i seen him back in 2011 at the Compton swapmeet .
I LOVE Kendrick, but we can't deny Tech N9ne has probably the best flow and lyricism in the game lol Not to mention he's built his empire entirely as an independent artist. As an example check out Kansas City by him.
Kendrick Lamar went through it just like Nipsey surrounded by gangs understand Kendrick just not a rap hip hop artists he grew up from the streets from the West Coast 💯
