    What a great video. I got my first moose license for this fall. I've never bow hunted before and first purchased my bow 3 years ago. Been so hyped I've been watching all the bow hunting moose videos I can find haha.

    Sam is a crack shot with a bow!!
    I have known Nathan since we were kids in school and I wouldn’t want anyone else accompanying me on a hunt.
    Great job to the whole crew.

    Awesome and well done. A very cool part of the US. Been visiting and exploring the bighorn national forest for the past 8 years mostly around the cloud peak wilderness.

    Is that the tent that Bo designed?

    • @infiniteoutdoorsusa
      @infiniteoutdoorsusa  Před 10 měsíci

      Hi Justin! It is sold by Wildernesses Ridge Llamas but Snow Trekker (to our knowledge) was the actual designer and manufacturer and had the unique designed tents well before that. I believe their version just has their logo on it and a higher price tag but an option for a packing system too. They did make some custom panniers designed specifically for packing on llamas! Both are great companies. If you don’t have llamas, probably cheaper to go to the source.

    I love guns and I'm all for hunting. In my country, Switzerland, bow hunting is fortunately prohibited. Because it's not always possible to kill with certainty an animal that can run away and agonize in an extremely cruel way for days. In fact, in my canton, when you wound an animal and don't kill it, you are obliged, on pain of a heavy fine or withdrawal of your hunting license, to warn a specialized hunter who can track the wounded animal with a dog specially trained to follow blood trails.

    • @infiniteoutdoorsusa
      @infiniteoutdoorsusa  Před 10 měsíci +2

      We totally get that perspective, and many states require special training for archery hunting, but the biggest way to ensure an ethical and clean kill is practice and self-control! This is why you will notice that Sam didn’t take a 68 yard shot (even though he is good on a range out to 100 yards). A close range archery shot with a modern bow is often more ethical than long range shots many people attempt with a rifle. Thanks for watching the video and glad to show you a quick, ethical, archery harvest!

    • @ElkSlayer53
      @ElkSlayer53 Před 10 měsíci +3

      Fortunately it’s prohibited for someone like you that doesn’t have the discipline to practice and be sure of your shot! I killed my first Elk on Tuesday with my bow, fell dead within 70 yrds. 5-8 seconds. People can pull a shot or flinch with any weapon. That’s why you practice.

    • @christophed4579
      @christophed4579 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@ElkSlayer53 First of all, you don't know me.
      Second, you've never missed and you never will.
      And if you do, you'll be following a wounded animal for days to finish it off.
      Sure.

      @@christophed4579 I’m sure I will mess up one day, and it will be a terrible feeling. But it is part of it. Like I said, I’ve seen people mess up with a scoped rifle. Seeing an animal suffer is the worst thing ever. I do put in my time to be as accurate as possible tho. And i agree not everyone should be out there with a bow. I talked to a guy that said he has shot 5 (archery) elk. I said, “wow, good for you, that’s not easy.” He said he hasn’t found any of them. Broke my heart. He went on to tell me he never practices… someone like that shouldn’t have a bow in their hands. I apologize for being a smart ass in my first comment. I’m just passionate about archery and I feel people that really care put in the time to make their shots count!
      Wish you the best of luck in your hunting!

    You’re not any better than those jackwagons wearing red just because you’re decked out in Sitka gear and on a mission. It’s public land, that’s how it works.

      They are absolutely beautiful and we love all wild animals. That’s why our company puts tens of thousands of dollars a year towards conservation efforts to grow and preserve populations of wild game animals!

  • @jamesparker3189
    @jamesparker3189 Před 10 měsíci

    I can understand hunting to cull a species when it becomes too overpopulated, but to kill an animal for the sport of it, is a tad too barbaric for me. I can also understand teaching our kids on how to handle a weapon and how to hunt and fish and how to dress out an animal, but not for sport, only for food and as a last resort. Knowing how to use a gun and how to survive in the wild a is very good thing, as is teaching our kids to respect all life.

    • @infiniteoutdoorsusa
      @infiniteoutdoorsusa  Před 10 měsíci +2

      No sport killing here, all meat was packed miles out and is already feeding Sam’s family! Tags are given out to keep the population at ideal levels. Moose have a very specific habitat they need and not harvesting enough risks large scale starvation during bad winters- or forces them to habitat already strained by other animals (like elk ranges). Glad you enjoyed the video and, rest assured, the fantastic meat from this beautiful animal will be on the dinner table for month and years to come!
      As another note, we at Infinite Outdoors, feel it is far more ethical to eat free-range game that were ethically harvested in the wild. Anything we can do to not support feed lots that supply grocery stores is a win in our mind.
