  • In 2020 I acquired my first Belsaw sawmill and by spring of ‘21 I had this lane mill. Powered by a 6 cyl Cat diesel. I’ve slowly been building a saw shed and upgrades to it as we go. Happy New Year and stay tuned! Big things coming in ‘23

    Ain't it amazing what one man with a will to work, some ambition and some old fashion know how can do. If you know any thing at all about sawmills you know how many hours of labor and ten times that many hours of planning, thinking and dreaming it into reality this took. You cant stop a guy like this.

      Thank you! It sounds like you’ve spent some time at a mill! And I think the majority of the hours for me are spent on the dreaming portion haha. Maybe followed up by shopping for things I dreamed up. Thanks for watching! Stay Safe.

    WOW I haven't seen a Lane mill in 40 years, back then my neighbor restored a Lane #1 mill, that thing was poetry in motion and did a great job, thanks for bringing back good memories !!

    good to see your mill getting better. Like the shed over your mill, that will make it better to work when its raining.

      Are you using carbide bits on your mill?

    • @rustymill2130
      @rustymill2130  Před rokem

      @@marfy3866 in that video I believe it was all with carbides. I’ve since switched to regular steel bits. Mostly due to price. I kept chipping carbides before they were even close to worn out.

      No it’s just a hobby. No real goals other then cutting lumber. Maybe just make enough to pay for fuel and maintenance. Thanks for watching!

    What year is your mill ?

    • @rustymill2130
      @rustymill2130  Před 10 měsíci +1

      1981 is the date of manufacture on the log carriage. I’m assuming the rest of the mill is from then aswell. The caterpillar motor is from the 60s I believe. Thanks for watching!

      @@epicweldepicweld5857 I’m not sure how it was from the factory. There’s no indication it was portable. it wasn’t when I bought it and it isn’t now.
