  • We wouldn’t have Christianity without miracles, and one miracle in particular-the resurrection and ascension of Jesus of Nazareth. Odd then, isn’t it, that not so long ago, there were some people who said that we could? C. S. Lewis knew that was nonsense, and he set out in his great book, “Miracles,” to set down a case for miracles in general, and specifically, the miracles that gave us Christianity. Join the Pugcast in this episode as they discuss C. S. Lewis and Miracles.

Tom's explanation of causality at 42:45 is very helpful on many levels, including, I think, when offering classical reformed rebuttals to synergism. I often find that synergists have little to no concept of primary and secondary causes.
    Thanks as always Pugs!

On my second listen through, I finally think that I got Chris' real point in that the modern western church has erred greatly in lessoning the transcendence of the miraculous. And that we have a truncated view of the magnitude and fundamental importance of the miraculous. And, thus we have a truncated, limited, semi-important, and mundane view of God. And what a horrible blasphemy is that! Maranatha!

Why reject a supernatural event today when a non-spatial, non-temporal, and non-material realm already produced a supernatural event (Big Bang / Creation) in the past?
