- 70 meters high tower carries 8 5-element 15m yagis as pairs separated horizontally by 12 meter distance and vertical stacking is 14 meters. The heights of the antenna pairs are 64, 50, 36 and 22 meters.
Antennas are Optibeam OB5-15:
www.optibeam.info/index.php?ar...
Tower is produced by 4O3A/YT3M:
www.4o3a.com/index.php?option=...
Antenna has ca 16 dbd free space gain and over 24 dbi gain at 4 degrees over real ground. Beamwidth is less than 30 degrees. Testing confirms exactly the modelling results. Pattern measured with signal generator and SDR was almost identical to what the computer suggests and signal levels drop ca 12 db when antenna is 20 degrees off and already 20 db when 25 degrees off the correct direction. There is huge -50db+ null at 90 degrees confirmed with real measurements (!) and ca -20-30 db signal drop on the other directions.
The stack has phase switching capability which allows any pair of the 4 to be switched out of phase to change the radiation angle. Pre-configured steps are 4, 7, 10, 15, 30 degrees while maintaining most of the gain as all antennas are always connected

congratulations on the success and good contacts my friends !!!
Impressive antenna!
Amazing, superb engineering . I downed additional two pegs watching this video. :-)
Nice video, Tonno. Always strong signal here in SA. 73's de PY3KN.
Super antenna! I hope it does well in the winter time with that Baltic weather. I am sure it carries a heavy ice load! I would be worried a little about ice in all those turning parts.
Thank you for a great video portraits the pioneer spirit of man to reach higher levels of performance great video great music you reach heights that most radio amateurs will reach l salute all of you from Robin ZS6RWD Hazyview south Africa'.
Speechless !!
Uma obra de arte está torre com antenas
Parabéns 👍👍👍
Hi, Tonno!
It's realy nice video.
It was realy nice to work from this station in WPX SSB 2013. Tnx!
I wish I can go there again.
YL1XN Chris (Kristers Misa)
Great arm strong rotor! I wished you had plugged in a FT-817 at the antenna for testing and made a couple of QSOs.
Wow. Some serious equiptment there, hope to work you one day from My QRP kit on a summit!
WOOOW< What A Majestic An beautiful Antenna!
una maravilla el sueño no realizado de esta estacion ,la implementacion profesional de esa estacion ,realmente un sueño
Wow , that has got to be the most amazing antenna set up i have seen ever. Well done.
Great video and i hope to see more. 73s
Greetings from Canada VE3NCV
I would like to see that tower turn in a -35 Celsius Canadian winter night.
This is cool. You´ll never need any condx anymore to work the world :) 73´s DJ7EC
Wow, that's a MONSTER STACK!!!
Incredible antenna system, congratulations. However, I do have to agree to a certain extent that you get to a point where you know you are going to be heard whatever the situation. A lot of enjoyment I get out of hand radio is struggling to hear a weak signal and persevering until you make the contact. But hey, I expect this is just a contest station. Can I suggest that the next job that you do is tidy your shack up, looks like a bomb has gone off in a spaghetti factory
lol and your look any better lol
Fabulous, congratulations
Congratulation on a mammoth effort. Manfred it is amateur radio just like portable, QRP D-Star and mobile HF All wonderful facets of the hobby
but wow, you guys do it BIG Again Fantastic work Pete VK3TQ
Very impressive array. I'll look for you on 15
Bruce W7AAC
tnx:) music selected by ES5PC. The cost is hard to determine as it is composed of different parts, several constructed by myself. The core tower is from 4O3A at a rather friendly price, let's say so...:)
Impressive!
Amazing video> I've always known your station to be loud but MOONBOUNCE? Crazy and very wonderful. What a technological marvel and pileup crusher/creator.
Dan W8CAR
С размахом ребята! 👍👍👍👍👍
Привет из Новосибирска! 73
Just great. A lot of thought has gone into this antenna combination. I just hope you do not get any nasty wind causing problems in the future. It just must be nice to have an antenna farm like that with no Anti Ham neighbours to moan about the masts. Very well done. 73 de John - G0WXU.
Hi Mac,
12 meters horizontal, 14 meters vertical (64,50,36,22)
You don’t need to get the measuring tape out.
You got me beat.
Nice apparatus!
Absolutely beautiful antenna erection. Marvelous job to you and the crew.
73, to Es5tv and crew de kk4drt
Ah, I can only dream. No need to wish you good DX because you're always going to get it with a setup like that. Well done! 73 de VK4QP.
That is CRAZZZZY!! Awesome! Wish I had that kind of money. LOL, great vid and thanks. 73!
Awesome Aerial. Wish I could use it just for one time :)
Hi, you are welcome to visit me and operate any time you wish!:)
That is one impressive tower! 73, KD2DPL
Big job and wonderful,,,
My mind was blown when I realized the tower rotates :-O
I'm in the same club as you then mind equals blown. ;)
Outstanding.
I knew this wasn't anywhere in the Southern United States when the next day that massive structure was still there. Here, a couple of meth heads with a pickup truck would have had the whole thing dismantled and at the recycling center before sunup.
Seriously though, that was an awesome video and project. My mind boggles at the engineering and other talents that were needed to make this happen.
Great job, guys!!!!!
ALL CRAZY !!! QUEM GOSTA DE RÁDIO NÃO BATE BEM DA CABEÇA 👊😂 MAS NO FINAL, TUDO COMPENSOU... 1 HUG OF BRASIL 🇧🇷🤙😉 SUPER LIKE !!!
Congratulations Tonno! Indeed amazing antenna! Hope do mny QSO's with you.
The video it is very nice also. See you on contests, 73, Pedro CX5BW
amazing!crazy!wanderful!
Hi Ben, I hope so!:) I have made some videos of changing the radiation angle of the stack, will probably post some at some time.

Hey Tonno, Where did you get the tower and about how much did it cost? Great epic music. 73's de KK4RFH
Damn...! Very impressive.
.What is the distance from shack to this tower?
.
Dream of Antenna
Fantastic !!
Can we expect more fine Ham video's from you?
73 Ben de PA2OLD
Amazing 15m stacking..Ham radio,nonlimited...
Hi Tonno, could you relive some technicalties, i.e.stacking combinations, steering angles, overal gain of the system ? Guess,
it would be between 14 to 16 dbd ?
Guys, great job, who the hell said, antennas are not beautifull :)
Kr Nermin S58DX
i don't know:) Viljo, ES5PC, picked it. But it is quite nice indeed:) It says something about the author at the end of the movie.
I just got my first rtl-sdr and with the bunny ears resting on my ceiling fan I can pick up New Zealand, Madagascar: I can only dream of what this can pick up!
Awesome!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW !!!
Good job ;)
Awesome acheivement. There are a few other very high gain 15 meter antennas around the world - a QSO should be possible. Some of the comments???? The timing is perfect. It's 15 meters - it says so. The meter shows 50 watts output, the gain of an ACOM2000A is 15 dB (you can look it up). That's 1500 Watts output for 50 watts input. All good. N4GG.
big job
thank you thank you thank you
Grande Tonno de IZ6AVE. 73 !
where is this must be in a lovely calm environment
Tonno, what is the horizontal spacing between each pair? 73's de SP2XF (SN2M)
Lovely
The guy wire clamps at 11:50 appear to be installed incorrectly. The "saddle" should straddle the live guy line. There's an old guy-line saying "Never saddle a dead horse" which means "do not put the saddle of the U clamp onto the dead end of the guy wire."
you are right! I am in the middle of fixing this to be on the safe side. Thanks!
Very nice to meet you on 20 meters today! My station is far less impressive. 73, from K0KMH.
It's very good.
I like it video!
Superrrrr..... My dream...;)
How tall is the tower?
Great job! 73, de RN3ZX
Awesome! 73!
Вот это я понимаю профессионалы
Tonno, what is this music?
(needless to give compliments on nice antenna system)

Super! Great! This is abroad a Amateur! In the shack is not comfortable.
Epic !
What's the name of the song starting at 10:36" ?
how do you match up those antennas? I thinking on doing 4 cubical quads in that same smaller configuration. not sure how to co-phase them though. any help would be appreciated.
Hi, I use 1/4 wave coaxial transformers to bring the feedpoint to 50 ohms.
I am new to co-phasing antenna's. is there some place I can get information on co-phasing 4 antennas. ie the turn ratio of the transformers and the impedance of the phasing coax etc. thanks for your response, that is a very impressive array you built. I'm planning on putting 4 cubical quads in the same but smaller setup as you have
I am using simple 1/4 transformers:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarter-wave_impedance_transformer
It means 2 pieces of 50 ohm 1/4 wave cables in parallel to bring the impedance from 12.5 ohms back to 50 ohms. No turn ratios or any other fancy stuff. If you hhave 4 antennas with 50 ohm impedance then this is what you can use to bring the impedance back to 50 ohms from 12.5.
Super miusic....
Holy crap!
I think im in love...
I know its the 12th time but could you bring it back down? The SWR is still a 1.3.
