I only have the gen3’s and mine have been reliable I have 3 of them. no stoppages I only have a few hundred rounds through mine but I would say there very good mags they seem to be well made.
I’m sorry man, I had that issues with the Gen 2’s but haven’t had any issues since. I know the struggle. Have you had a ln actual gun smith or armorer check out your Glock for any issues?
Does your slide still feel like it hangs up slightly with chambering the initial round? I only have about 3-400 rounds through them and it feels slightly better. I only feel it with the mag full, if I only stuff 14 in the mag I don’t notice it.
What are your thoughts on the trigger reset of the Apex trigger in the 43X? Mine sounds more like a “clunk” instead of a “clink” compared to my Glock 19.
With the apex disconnector I had multiple issues, I went back to stock on the gen5 and it was way better. I much prefer the Zaffiri precision upper parts kit and it cleans up the whole thing and makes a trigger pull way more crisp
Very interesting analogy about the cheating girlfriend. I could see why you’d be hesitant to carry the Gen2’s. But the Gen3’s are the new girlfriend and she’s proven herself 1000 times. Do you still not trust them for EDC?
True, but also, the new girlfriend comes from the same family, and everyone of them do it, so what’s gonna make this one now? But in all seriousness, I do carry them everyday, it’s just sucks to not feel 100% about these mags
@@shootintheshtpodcast If her sister cheated, how long before she cheats? And to be fair, she may never cheat but there’s always that thought in the back of your mind.
If you look at the most problematic static or dynamic part of a pistol, 95% of the time it is the magazine. I tried gen 3 Shield mags, and they were simply not reliable in my pistol. I then tried 3 PSA magazines. As someone who taught Quality, I feel as though the May indeed work for some 43x owners. My experience demonstrates a bell curve with Shield magazines at either side of a bell curve. Basically compared to a Glock factory mag being in the middle of the bell curve representing 99% close to conformance to the specification. On either side of the center line are the PSA magazines! Now this is in my 43x, it may be different in yours. Additionally Shield spring issues and the leading edge of the magazine not having a chamfer on the OEM mag as well as the PSA mag perhaps add to less reliability (in my 43x). Conclusion, you need to see what works for you and Do judge the reliability based on a significant sample size. Bottom line is I simply do trust the Shield product. As an aside, the mag latch opening potentially allows debris in the magazine. Thank you for your super video, and inviting opinions.
Having been brought up incorporating “failure drills” into most of my practice sessions, I like to think I’m always prepared for any malfunction. Having said that, I currently run several of the gen 3 mags in my Glock 48. I have had zero issues. 🫡
Very helpful, and excellent review. Thank you.
I was looking forward to seeing this! Great stuff!
Thank you! I like them so far, gonna be another update soon
Just started using my gen 3's in my 43x. No issues yet in three separate magazines. Running the shield arms standard mag catch.
Had issues with psa mags

Thanks for this video... my question is.
After putting 1000 rounds on those 2 mags. Would u edc them??
I currently do, but in the back of my mind it really bugs me that I can’t trust them 100%
I have not found a Shield mag for 43x that work.

Psa dagger mags are good too.
So I’ve heard, I also head PSA And Shield Arms are in a legal battle. So who knows what’s gonna happen
I absolutely do not trust my dagger mags. I have to rack them from the bottom every once in awhile cause the spring gets hung up
