The photoshoot ending and young raph saying "I love you brother" really got me 🥹🥺 I forgot when was the last time I cried in one of the tmnt episodes probably the season 2 finale or splinter's death but I really like these 3 episodes 😊
This was the original ending to the show. Before people and probably Nicklodeon themselves complained that it was too sad and made one of the directors or writers to "confirm" its an alternate ending. Because while people say it's an alternate ending to season 1's mutagen bomb, they are forgetting a few things. 1; The one in season 1 was only big enough to cover New York, not the world. And I believe in these apocalypse episodes Raph said it was "a last stand by the Kraang" or something along those lines. 2. The turtles don't meet Casey until season 2. So why would Raph have his skull and know his catchphrase if this is a season 1 plot line. 3. Chompy doesn't come in until season 4. So how would Raph know him? And have memories of season 4. So clearly this was the original ending, as by the bitter-sweet photo ending and the "For Kevin and Peter" bit as a thank you to the creators for letting them make this show. Where else would you put that other then the end?
Mutagen man (pulveriser) actually made a cameo though i sad one when raphs thrown in the arena water you can see his body in the corner which i guees means donnie never fixed him like he promised
Yeah Donnie made the retro mutagen and Timothy is basically mutagen, just repeat the process, like in the Battle of New York episode, but use Timothy instead of regular mutagen
Donnie: "Don't get so excited. It's just a cartoon, Raph. Geez." it didn't age well for Nickelodeon executives, Rob Paulsen like the others knew that it wasn't canon, after the recording session.
So a lot of fans like to claim that the Mutant Apocalypse trilogy is non-canon, but this was never actually confirmed by the creators. A lot of fans were very negative towards this episode, so they just started calling it non-canon and that started to spread around, and people started thinking it to be official.
From what I heard the creators Wanted this to be the Canon ending but Nickelodeon wouldn’t allow it because of how dark it is, In which I don’t really blame them because this as an ending would honestly feel anticlimactic. Sure the brothers are reunited but at what cost? Everything is already destroyed, Most or even All of their friends are dead.
There is no evidence in the actual episode that it's not Canon they only stated that it's not Canon during the behind the sceans but for fans that didn't see bts and they were just watching the show most of them would think it's Canon I mean this is the last produced episode why would they end the show with a non Canon episode it just doesn't make sense,I'm pretty sure Raphael mutant apocalypse was intended to be Canon but sense fans didn't like the fact that the show ended with a dark and sad episode so the crew behind the show stated that it's not Canon just to make the fans happy

Well-after watching what happened to the turtles in the Rise Universe, I appreciate that they at least have a happy ending in the 2012 series! 😅
Bittersweet that the fact, when their time comes, only Chompy would be all that's left, and it's gonna be a long while till he gets to Tokka's size.
