US vs UK Popeyes | Food Wars
The 4 piece in the US is often not on the menu, but you can order it anyway. It’s in the computer. I’ve seen it on the menu, available as a manager’s special, and off the menu; depending on which store.
Are you referring to the 4 piece chicken or the 4 piece tenders?
@@andy56duky chicken
I’m in the use for a bit and just ordered the four piece
Is it funny they have all of our franchises but we have none of theirs? 😆
Lol I knew something was off
These videos always make me crave whatever is being shown 😭
Same but here I don’t have many of thesse restaurants
You can always get it even if you don't eat all of what you got, show that craving who's boss
SAME 😭😭😭
Sameeeee
@MangoTangoFango 🙀
I love watching these as a Canadian since some of the exclusives from both countries are often at our stores
True
Frrr we have everything 😂😂🤣
@@uchihakami2304 We have everything, and we have nothing. Welcome to Canada.
whats canada like
@@ChrisannaKemp it's like a country 😂😂
I'm from the UK and I had Popeyes for the first time the other day as a new store had opened up in our local city. My god it was incredible, easily the best fried chicken I've ever had, it puts KFC to shame. I had the tendies and went for a 5 piece classic and a 3 piece spicy so I could try both. Both were incredible. I will definitely be going back! The only bad thing about it is it's ruined other fried chicken for me! I'll never be able to look at a dry tasteless chicken select the same way ever again
Gotta come to America have some Canes fried chicken
@@joeyskywalker1322 I think he wants to stay away from the chemicals tho :3
😂
@@joeyskywalker1322 in terms of Louisiana chicken, Popeyes is significantly better
Putting UK KFC to shame is hardly an achievement.
Video idea: Joe actually DOES eat the 48 piece. I'd watch the hell out of that.
First food wars mukbang? 🤔
@@JoeAvella DUUUUUUUDE
@@JoeAvella we need it.
@@JoeAvella Heck yeah!
@@JoeAvella Absolutely, do it.
The blackened chicken is primarily for their gluten free customers. And the fish sandwich is mostly a Lent thing.
Then why do they serve it on a bun as well? I’ve worked in many restaurants and anywhere with a griddle does blackened chicken. People just like it I guess.
@@Katalowins I've never seen the blackened chicken on a bun, but I am sure they'd put it on one, if asked. Normally, at multiple Popeye's, it's just a tenders meal.
it is not gluten free though...look it up
@@m.r.jarrell3725 They have blackened tenders and a blackened chickened sandwich that was PICTURED AND REFERENCED in the video. Pay attention lol
@@Katalowins Right? It's got nothing to do with gluten, it's more likely created for people on keto diets if anything. I agree with you that it's more about a different taste.
Haha I love how the cultural difference is evident further by the presenters. The Brit is reserved and gives the information while the American adds flair. As an American living in the UK I have an appreciation for both!
Why would you come to the UK lol
@@baloney2271 I like it here :)
@@earlbluetea which part?
I suspect the chicken weights for the tendies, sandwiches, etc vary not by country but just randomly based off of the size of the chicken that just happens to be supplied. Though I assume the UK would trend slightly lower because they aren't exactly known for factory farms like we are in the US
I want to try Popeyes so badly. Their food sounds so good!
Where do you live that you can’t just go out and get it ?
@@JJLfts In the UK they are quite rare, and usually pretty expensive in comparison to like McDonalds and KFC ect
@@JJLfts London is the only place
My favorite fast food chicken by far. Get it spicy if you ever get some.
@@JJLfts The nearest one where I live is in Altoona. I never get to try it even if I want to.
PS, MSG got a bad rap a few decades ago. It is simply a form of sodium. Yes we should watch our sodium intake. However MSG naturally occurs in things like tomatoes. It makes things extra delicious. It has not been proven to be an allergen, as far as I can tell from some research. There was a bias against Chinese restaurants because they often use MSG, a reviewer put fear into people about it and the stigma remains to this day. Look up Harold McGee's scientific take on MSG and decide for yourself.
I'm from the UK and although MSG isn't technically banned here (yet) a lot of manufacturers here put it on the front of the labels.
@@DarrenBoss1984 don't think msg will be banned, ever. how would it be banned if it's in lots of natural ingredients?
@@DarrenBoss1984 but yes, monosodium glutamate is usually labeled here as well.
If you don't eat your MSG, you're a Western coward
@@nonstopqs4188 They would just ban adding extra MSG to dishes outside of natural ingredients. Which would suck as I look for Chinese places that use MSG, if I am going to eat unhealthy I want to enjoy it.
I think you should do one between different sweet (candy for the US) brands, I think Joe would love this one. I remember when I was in America years back, the amount of different variations of Skittles for example compared to what we get over here is insane
They just did. With m&m
Great series!!!!
As a Popeyes employee there’s also catering options so the most chicken you can get is most likely in the hundreds
Usually fish sandwiches come out during the Lenten season, which is a time Catholics observe from March (Ash Wednesday) up until Easter and abstain from eating meat on Fridays. Since Popeyes is a Louisiana founded company, and Louisiana has a large Catholic demographic, this is likely why the flounder was released. I believe it's currently on the menu. Just a random tidbit from a New Orleanean to you. lol
How is fish not considered meat?
Nearly every American fast food company comes out with a fish sandwich during lent
And they all suck too because they put no effort
@@Mariaka181 Poultry is in its own category other than beef and pork. Yes it's all meat, but they're considered different. Idk.
@Gabrielle Snider I dunno. Ppl argue that, while a fish is an animal, meat itself derives from warm-blooded land animals, as opposed to cold-blooded sea creatures. I believe it goes back to matters of language. Catholic teaching historically roots itself in Latin, and the Latin word 'carne' referred specifically to the flesh of land & air animals.
@@starcherry6814 lol...very true.
I live in the uk and these guys be pumping out videos from food chains I had absolutely no idea were in this country on the regular
It just got announced that in Brighton near where I live there’ll be a Popeyes branch opening soon. Very excited for this.
I love the illustrations for the “box art” and parchment paper for our Popeyes in the US. They did such a good job with the graphic design. If only they released a fabric for it… So cute 🥺
Lies again? Paramount Pictures Pay Pal
Great video as always with these food wars! Keep it up!
the food looks good and the whole video looks fun and sound fun im learning so much about food
I love these videos.
Waiting for restaurants in the US to literally just serve soda in buckets
lol
😂😂😭
If they sell it for 1 dollar hell yeah
About time! I've missed these guys!
This is amazing.
6:34 The only way this video’s creation was possible was the fact that 3 Popeye’s locations opened in London. 2 of which (Whitechapel, Battersea) are kitchens. The only regular location (Stratford City, which, conventionally, is no more than a 7-minute drive from my house) stands on the Lower Ground Floor of the Westfield shopping centre, built part of the 2012 Summer Olympics. The site was originally where a KFC was, so you can probably understand what Harry means in more depth.
Happy that Harry is back and I'm happy that the food Wars his back starting off 2022 perfectly and I love Popeyes best chicken ever.
Me to
why tho? he is the most uninteresting and dull human on the planet
Finally, missed this duo!
3:09 Love the little "look at all those chickens" sound in the background 😂😂😂
Never replace these hosts. They make such a good pair
The specialty pies and beignets they had were so damn good. My bf really liked that fish sandwich too. The upgraded mac and cheese is perfect
And these guys always have the best videos
The flounder sandwich is available at least in NY currently. It usually comes out during Lenten season.
My mouth was watering the whole video
We have Popeyes in the Bahamas (for a few years now) and it's the same as the US. I wouldn't mind trying the Cajun red bean sandwich from the UK. That sounds interesting. 🤔
Wow,
That looks absolutely fantastic and the flavor delicious and taste must be out of this world 😋 . Nicely prepared and well presented . I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process and absolutely loved the end results 👌❤🤝🙏stay connected
your videos are amazing
I never been to Popeyes, but I know my friends told me how good the chicken is.
I can’t believe there’s a ton of salt in that chicken sandwich. Must be from the pickles on the chicken sandwich besides them adding salt to the flour before frying the chicken.
One of the best shows on CZcams and the hosts are hilarious 😅🤣🤣
Fun video. I would like to point out that onion rings are available on the Popeye's menu in America. Maybe it's only available in certain areas
My area doesnt have a Popeyes cuz Im in the stupid sticks but I wonder when and why they stopped selling them?
Certain areas have the onion rings, it used to be an actual side.
The flounder sandwich just re released for a limited time. That this is so darn good
Currently ramadan i feel hungry
This is why food insider has has subscribers
Ooooh, I'm ready!!!! Especially since Popeyes is new to the UK
Amazing!!
this channel helps solve the problem of finding a video to watch while eating
The funny thing is I'm eating Popeyes right now and watching this. This video came up when I was eating Popeyes so I was like why not watch it. Popeyes is one of my favorite chicken fast food chain out there. Their chicken is sooo crispy for no reason, it's a must try if you haven't ever tried it.
Same lol
Ive never tried popeyes but i havve tried jolibees and they do some pretty good chicken
@@GADZOOKS195 well, personally, popeyes is slightly better than jollibee in my opinion i recommend you try a Popeyes Chicken Sandwich
But there is nothing “fast” about Popeyes.
@@GADZOOKS195 I cannot walk into YOUR Canadian food places to order without first knowing how to speak French!! Da hell's wrong witchu people up there? Imma gonna slappa da snot outta yo face wit da wet spahetti. Mama Mia!!!
I love these series. I have a request. I am a big... A BIG!!!!! FAN of Toblerone. It has different varieties, shapes, etc. PLease do this chocolate next. I hope you do it. It's a request from a fan!!!
Yeah Toblerone's great! Strangely enough, I like it when the nougat gets stuck in my teeth lol
I'm so happy to see US restaurants finally coming over! A Sbarro just opened up near me and a wingstreet.
You guys are gonna get the US effect on your waist sizes😂 cheers from NY
I kinda wanna try these they look really nice
I never knew that this fast food restaurant exists. Wow, I wanna try all of them!🤤😍
I'd actually eat that Red Bean Burger. If it has Popeye's Cajun Spices, then it's already got a leg up. Also, Onion Rings are not exclusive to the UK, though they have stopped selling them recently.
Onion rings are peng, they need to reintroduce em
They got them up where I am in Canada although they’re definitely a 2/10 max
We once had them alongside the nuggets they just take off the menu for maintenance, from the uk
They have wings seasonally as well. Its just not an everyday item.
We have those onion rings in Canada, will not recommend, taste like raw onion with soggy breading
I always get hungry when I watch these videos
You need to do this for Turkey and US, we love it and also then you can see to many differences
Hello Melisa how are you doing today?
Giving this video a thumbs up just for Harry's Animal Crossing t-shirt.
Also, I dunno if it's just the lighting, but the US chicken looks a lovely golden colour, whereas the UK stuff looks overly dark.
I noticed there's more fat involved with the UK items. I'm thinking they might use too much shortening in the batter or they might fry it too long. Both would explain the dark color and higher fat content.
i was looking to see if anyone else saw the ac shirt 😂😂
pretty sure that the american one has either weird oil or weird colourants - i’ve been almost everywhere in my country that sells fried chicken and it’s never looked orange 😂 it’s always a toasty pale beige brown... a little worried for you guys
@@cheyedwa yeah you gotta scroll for a bit to find the comment which is kinda disappointing
Once again I'm surprised to learn my country even has these restaurants
Not once did I think we had a Popeye's
London.
It opened last year in West London, so it's literally been here less than a year.
Not west London, east London Stratford Westfield
@@chrisgrove4265 just realised lol
it only opened in November & is only in the Stratford shopping centre, we have alot of cross continent chains Tim Hortons is expanding all over,
I’m from the UK and a new Popeyes restaurant has just opened in my local city and I’m hoping to try it on Saturday.
The Flounder Sandwich is so underrated!!
Joe's dig at Tik-Tokers was the best XD. Hail to the King!
*Popeyes is Awesome, in both UK and US.*
*Their food tastes freaking delicious.* 😋
*Amazing video, Food Wars!* 😍👍
@Geoffrey The Giraffe yh in westfield I tried it
@Geoffrey The Giraffe it came before jan and it is not really good
@TOASTIE a simple search on google would show u
@@maliamalis6389 I searched it on Google in December and there wasn't any so I assumed it would never come here, I'm assuming most people did the same
I've tried the Oreo milkshake and it looks good and tastes good as well
When I was vegetarian I used to get the biscuits and fries everyday while on break at the mall. I would have love to try the UKs veggie sandwich
We literally have ONE popeyes in the UK tho 😂
Didn't even realise it was in the UK already. Haven't had it in ages can't wait to get it again
Only one store so far, it's in Westfield Stratford.
I can not describe how hungry this video made me
Popeyes should pay y’all kz I definitely ordered some just because it looked so good 😂
Would be intresting if you compare UK vs Japan ☺️ diffrent resturants. As you did US vs Japan.
yeh
Really hoping Popeyes get some more stores outside of London soon!
Oh man those biscuits are HEAVEN
You can also get a saver meal in the uk. Which is like 2/3 Tenders and some fries for 2.99.
Really hope they open more in the UK, there is only one which is in Westfield. The queues way too long, I can’t be asked to wait that for long
I faced the queue a couple of weeks ago - it was worth the wait!
I'm curious about Food Wars: Movie Theatre Food Size Edition. I wonder how big your "large" drinks are over there. Because I make multiple trips to the toilet when I order one with my salty popcorn lol.
I'm not a scone expert, but everyone I've had has been sweet. They're also not as flaky. The scone is also more dense. Biscuits are usually more buttery too.
Mardi gras mustard is found in U.S. also, my favorite dipping sauce.
Popeyes Philippines has Filipino-style spaghetti which is similar to Jollibee. 😍
Many restaurants have the money to go international which is what makes its popular and the unique menu items are the boss
I love the blackened chicken, and I would 100% love the US to get that red bean patty sandwich...Cajun Sparkle on anything makes it taste amazing...
Can we get a video for fast food differences between the US and Turkey? Would be so cool!
I'm sure they were very polite while letting you know that most of the exclusive UK items were "unfortunately unavailable."
If KFC can have Beyond nuggets then anything is possible for Popeye's. LOL
I finally reached the age last year when I gave up trying to keep up with popular culture or find new songs and it's been great. I don't know who she is either or heard her music but her sauce is good.
Us Popeyes exclusives are blackened chicken, popcorn shrimp, red beans and rice, coleslaw, tartar sauce, Creole cocktail sauce, blackened ranch, buttermilk ranch, sweet heat sauce, wild honey mustard, bayou buffalo,
Re: I think in the 50's there was a popular song that mentioned the island of Capri and we just kept it going.
You guys should do Canada VS US next. Feel like the menus portion sizes and Ingredients will be different. Canada got a little more food regulations.
I feel like the biggest reason they will not do it is the US and Canada are just too similar, so it would make the video a bit boring.
@@ashiqurrahman1343 agreed canada and the us are pretty alike
@@ashiqurrahman1343 Yea, basically the same as US + Poutine. The Popeye's Cajun Poutine is decent.
I want to try Popeyes so bad, like it sounds and looks so good 😋
Where do u live just curious? I get it like 3 times a month its good. I live in the U.S. And right now you can get a $5 box with 2 pcs of chicken or 3 chicken tenders with 2 biscuits and 2 sides for only $5
Its fantastic
Wait a second. We have Popeye's in the UK?!?!?! WHAT?!?!!!
As always it's probably just in London. Though I went to a wingstop here in Edinburgh recently and it was pretty good.
I’ve wanted to try popeyes chicken ever since I first watched little Nicky. Just waiting for them to open one up in Manchester since they’re all in London atm
There is now a popeyes chicken in Manchester also one in Nottingham to
HE TALKS ABOUT NOT HAVING VEGETARIAN FOOD AT AMERICAN POPEYES THEN AFTER THAT GOES AND TASTE RED BEAN AND RICE FROM AMERICAN POPEYES
4:20 who's gonna tell him they definitely ran out of tenders and just started using filets?
There’s a new frozen strawberry lemonade and chocolate chip cookies at my local Popeyes’s in Dallas, TX. You also didn’t mention the popcorn shrimp meal in the US.
UK Popeyes exclusives are chicken sandwich deluxe with lettuce and cheese, hot wings 3, 5, 8, 12 and 20, spicy chicken sandwich, Creole Cajun red bean sandwich, onion rings, voodoo sweet chili sauce, garlic mayo, mango habanero,
As someone living in Poland where there's like...5 fast food chains (But Mostly the trio of McDonald's, KFC and Burger king) hearing about those USA ones how good they are makes me wish I could transport food to myself
Yeah but you can get Zywiec in Polish KFC so you guys win everything
this food is not good at all, food in US is actually trash. For them the bigger = the better, but quality of food is dogshit
as u can see mostly they hate vegetables, thats because of quality
Okay hear me out 😂😂… just a thought for an episode… what if they swapped places. And try their respected different foods. Like joe goes to the UK 😂 and see if they taste a difference
Please do US vs UK monster energy drinks
Tried the Barrhead (Scotland) one last week. Using KFC as a comparison, the chicken pieces were juicier with a crispier coating but there was a strange background smell that smelled a bit pishy, like the kind of pish you do after a bladder infection. The Cajun chips were very good and those scone things were good dipped in the gravy. The goujon/tender chicken was juicy and the coating was pretty crunchy. It was so crunchy it actually tore up the top of my mouth a bit. I'm going back this week to give it another shot.
I like Popeyes chicken but I haven't had in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 🇬🇧 as yet. Yummy!!!! Crispy and huge chicken breast. Yummy!!!
I’ve been told the UK biscuits taste different from the US biscuits.
Yeah I imagine the ones we get in the UK aren’t like US biscuits at all
There are mostly sweet scones but non sweet scones are also a thing and there are egg free scones which makes them a biscuit.
I hope US biscuits are seriously ass
@@FlamesUp1602 they're tasty
They’re just scones
I want to say while it isn’t on the menu I think you can order 24, 36, and 50 pieces of normal chicken/ bone in. To clarify my family normally at home is 9 people so family parties can be way more easily which is why I know at least the 24 exist and I’m pretty confident the 36 does as well
i currently work at a popeyes in the US, currently there are bigger sizes for signature chicken, you can get more than 16 piece, you can get a 25 piece, and i think a 36 piece during special times, but the 25 piece i believe you have to specifically request, i have only had it ordered one time so far
One thing I love in these videos is the noticeable difference in color from one fried chicken item to the other. It's almost like the US hasn't banned all of the harmful seed oils used to fry this crap.
Indeed. 🇺🇸 Has lots of crap on fast food still.
But it taste good tho
@ATF and why would they
@ATF hey don't you have some pets to shoot
You can also just not eat fast food regularly
