Sanders didn't split anything. He was wildly more supported than all of the other candidates rolled together. The DNC kneecapped him. The tragedy is that he didn't fight back, which has caused the party to hemorrhage members ever since, AND evaporated trust in the entire electoral process across the land.

I’ve never regretted voting for Bernie Sanders.
The 40-hour work week was based on the assumption that at least one person in each family would be working unpaid at home super-full-time doing housework, childcare, gardening, and community volunteer work -- and wages reflected the understanding that this person must be cared for, even as they were not directly paid. If we are going to demand that almost every adult 18 and over makes a pittance earning profits for someone else, then we MUST adjust expectations so that they have time to do the work of the home and care for themselves. We are driving ourselves and each other into disability, then refusing to allow them to draw even the incredibly insulting disability benefits our society theoretically offers.
Bernie is the president we would have had if we were a sane country.

Biden's finest moment was when he said, "Will you shut up, man!" to Trump. The only way I'd agree to debate that idiot would be if the moderators silence the microphone of the person who should NOT be speaking. Trump's stupid, rude behavior, blathering over Biden as Biden tried to respond to the questions was absolutely infuriating.

@xkot6431 You make a good point! And sadly, I think you're right. The news media may give in to requests here or there, but just like social media, they are all about the number of eyeballs they can get to keep engaging. So the more outrageous and salacious things get, the better.
It's really unfortunate because there used to be an agreement during my parent's generation that an informed public was a public good, so tv stations all ran the news at a loss. Then cable arrived and shifted the news to a profit based model. I don't believe this has been good for our country. But to try to end on some uplifting news about media, you know what is amazing to me? I've seen YT compilations where Bernie's key messages and concerns have not changed since he entered into politics, (which I think may have been in the 80's?) He is an anomoly amongst most politicians.
I wish we could clone Senator Bernie Sanders and have an unending supply of Bernies. Thank you for having him on. He will always be on the side of working people, and we appreciate him even when he doesn't represent our state.

I think one of the best character traits Bernie Sanders possesses is that he is not afraid to wade into nuanced positions that don't immediately fall into the simplistic either/or categories that modern media thrives on to fan the flames and drive traffic.

I’m not entirely sure if money should be completely removed from politics as I do think American organizations have a right to donate to causes they want to. However, it should have some limits, and there should be more transparency about it

Whereas three of my children are Jewish and they're great grandma and great great grandma survived Auschwitz. As did a friend of mine that has now passed. Trump wants to "debate" Biden equals he needs to yell and interrupt everyone for an hour and not say an actual fact. Trump tried to give him Covid last time, so there is no reason to do any of it.
I really think trump will find a way to back out of it. Just like they said on this podcast.
I don't think Biden should debate Trump. It would be giving Trump normality, and make people say after all he's just a typical politician, it would also create equality with Biden. I believe Biden should stand his ground and refuse to debate Trump. If asked why he should clearly state that this is a serial liar, a sexual predator, a known insurrectionist, and a traitor with links to Russia, with multiple indictments, it would be wrong to normalize him in a presidential debate.
Remember the Mad Man hovering, literally, over Hillary. No decision required until after summer conventions. Let's get Biden some Legacy Press at least, DNC.

10 years ago I discovered I have a genetic blood clotting disorder. The blood thinner, Eliquis, that is considered standardized treatment, is $500.00 per month. My insurance covers 50% of that cost. Many, many people take this drug for various conditions. The FDA approved the generic version in 2019. The pharmaceutical company went to court and got an extension for the patent for 5 more years, but this only applies to the US. I can get the generic version in Canada for about $75.00 per month. This is one of the drugs the Biden Administration has on the list to get the price reduced. Big pharma makes most of it’s profits from Americans.

As a resident of Omaha, This has been a thing since the last election, I'm glad someone is finally talking about it.
Maine is in the process of adopting the National Popular Vote compact- in which participating states pledge to assign their electors to whoever wins the popular vote. NPV is very close to getting the number of states necessary to implement this strategy.

It would incentivize folks to join them and potentially create more jobs as the labor would be spread out over a longer period of time.
Bernie is a very rare, prized gem, unfortunately. There hasn't been anyone like him who has fought for us for as long as he has. And it saddens me that he's not more respected and appreciated by his colleagues. He truly is the epitome of a proper public servant. He really cares, and he will be sorely missed when he is gone.

A debate with AI powered fact checking live and visual would be the format I’d want to watch.
I think lawyers have been disbarred, because they used an AI to write their statements, and it referred to non-existent cases or just hallucinated outright. Medical AIs have been diagnosing patients based on whether there's a ruler in a photo, or the age of an X-ray machine. An AI is not smart. It doesn't value facts, because it doesn't know what facts are. It basically guesses which word follows the previous one based on the prompt. If you ask it a bad question, it will produce bad information. It's bullshit in, bullshit out.
You make it fact-check Trump, he's gonna make up something outlandish and the AI simply won't know what to do with it. Or worse, runs with it...
