    Nice video about the border crossing. Did your guard use a magnifying glass when looking at your passport? Mine did.

    How long did you take a train ride from Warszawa to Brest? 2, 3 hours? And what's the price?

    • @NomadicDmitry
      @NomadicDmitry  Před 4 lety +6

      Kristijan I think it was around 4 or 5 hours
      Price wise I think it was 20-25USD. Not expensive.

      Thank you. :) Is it true now, that i dont need to have visa if I visit Brest. Just need to contact tourist agency and book a programme or ticket?

    • @NomadicDmitry
      @NomadicDmitry  Před 4 lety +2

      Kristijan To he honest it depends 1) on your nationality 2) in most cases you need to fly to Minsk airport to have that 30 days visa on arrival. For me it was easy because I'm american and russian. And when I use Russian passport to enter Belarus I need no visa wherever I enter - it's visa free. But for most other nationals it's stricter. So please double check before travel. Most likely no problem when entering through Minsk by air.

      @kristijan7001 Před 4 lety

    Question: Do I need a Visa if I catch a train in Poland and I want to stay few days in Brest ? I am Italian

    • @NomadicDmitry
      @NomadicDmitry  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you for your comment. Well, as of now the situation has changed so dramatically (in the past month) that I have no idea to be honest! As far as I know the general rule was that 30 days was Visa-free, but only when you enter through Minsk airport. Brest is a bit different area in that sense, it's mostly either Russians, Belarus or Polish people crossing there by train. Minsk is what is supposed to be used for international crossing.
      This is not an advice in any sense, but something to consider. Stay safe and once it all opens for travel I hope everything will be great again ;)

    What if we cross frim Belarus to Poland whats the process?

    • @NomadicDmitry
      @NomadicDmitry  Před 3 lety +1

      Not sure about that. As far as I understand if you are a foreigner your best bet would be flying out of Minsk airport.
      Crossing by land (I guess) is a less popular option and primarily used by locals.

      Yes, there is! Brest is Belarus and Poland is in EU. And I think this train no longer runs, you can cross by bus or car.

      @@NomadicDmitry Ahaha, Im really confused. Could you give me advice? Im travelling from Poland to Belarus in a couple of months. When I am looking at the trains its saying 6hours to get to Brest and 2hrs to get back to Warsaw Like why does it take so long?

    • @NomadicDmitry
      @NomadicDmitry  Před 4 lety +1

      What citizenship do you have, buddy? Seems like not Russian or Belarus. I don't want to scare you, but in this scenario I would probably go to Minsk by taking a plane. Minsk is much more international, they have personnel who could work with foreigners, etc. If you going to Brest 99% of people would be Russians or Belarus people. Border personnel might not speak English and might have troubles communicating with you. In my opinion it's better to take flight to Minsk. BTW, I wanted to remind that Belarus is visa-free (for 30 days) for foreigners (e.g Americans) only if you fly to Minsk International Airport. Brest is not a proper entry point for that reason.
      Those are just my recommendations, you might ask for a second opinion ;) Take care!
