People have sexual fetishes too. Men and Women. Even a lot of women have tended to find men who are overly toned and muscular in blue-collar jobs or men in uniforms hot. they are sexualized and are all over the place. It's not a bad thing to have a thing for men and women in uniforms or outfits of certain jobs. Mainstreaming it and ruining a job's reputation is a bad thing.

We are so normalized that whenever we hear the word ' air hostess' we imagine a beautiful and well disciplined girl of certain height and weight wearing makeup and hot uniform of respective airlines. Facts House why should we punish the flight attendants for wearing their "uniform"? What they should wear is already decided by the airline company they're working for. If you find their uniform "indecent" then write a complaint to the airline company.
Also, you are saying that their sexualisation should end and at the same time you want *them* to change. How can a piece of cloth that is covering even their private parts still sexualise them? Have you ever tried changing your perspective of seeing them as sexual objects just because of their clothing? Even the saree-clad female flight attendants of Air India have faced sexual harassment. Why? Aren't they wearing a "sanskari" outfit?

I wanted to be an air hostess because I wanted to earn as early as possible to support my family financially but when I researched for famous institutes to enter this aviation industry I got to know from their websites that the ladies who were a part of this industry were really pretty(according to beauty standards fixed by the society). The qualities of being able to communicate well to the passengers were sidelined and the qualities of 'developing the personality" and being able to apply make up was given priority. A website also mentioned that I need to learn to stay silent if a passenger misbehaves me harasses me. I was told by my family that they cannot let me join that industry because they cannot let strangers objectify their daughter. The thing really hit me hard.

It's not just in the airline industry. Happens in alot of companies, especially in the "Sales " environment, like Recruitment, estate agent, finance, or any corporate world, this is all changing now, especially since covid, it's all about presenting the right image of the company. In this case, when you are on a flight, trapped in a confined area, with not much to do, you have to have something to look at. As they say Look but don't touch. As long as the passenger is respectful about it then I don't see the problem. "A sexy image sells", and when they earn most money on commission they have to go out of their way to be profitable both individually and for the company. Low budget airlines are focussed on commission earnings because they pay is quite bad.

Ageism, sexsism, objectifition.. the aviation is full of it...lately virgin Atlantic made it not so compulsory to wear their signature red lipstick as a sign of modern reforms, and also allowed the option of trousers instead of skirts for their stewardesses. I'd rather address them as cabin crew...also I would like to break the stereotype of gay male cabin crew which is wrong too. We have to clear exams each year to keep our flying license intact.. it includes the following..first aid, safety and emergency procedures- right from opening doors in armed mode to evacuation planned and unplanned, decompression, usage of safety equipments and so on...service procedures regarding wines, food pairings, presentation, etc...crew crew resource management...how to deal with conflicts tactfully and so much more..dangerous goods regulations, aviation security, plus time away from family, can't celebrate holidays with family no leaves in holiday season, loneliness during layovers..nobody talks about that..and so on..and also annual medical checks.. and if found like for example low hemoglobin or overweight or hearing problems or back posture problems, the the crew is grounded and is kept off duty which means no flying and no salary and there is also time limit..get fit within so and so time or else buzz off...such strict medical standards..and yeah alcohol test before each flight which is another regulation on its own..and if found under alcohol influence...say goodbye to your flying license.. it's high time that we change our perception. I get it cabin crew must be physically fit and well groomed, but calling them item or aunty is wrong at so many levels...wonder how would you feel being thrown out of the job just coz you are old? And does nobody get the fact about your hard work dedication, experience and patience, and also how physically demanding it is...imagine having to wake up at odd hours, not eating food on time, not getting g enough rest, cranky passengers, horrible airline management, paycuts, layoffs, lack of job security...and once you reach 40, you can't go nowhere else..the airline receives thousands of applications each year and only select few are handpicked to fly as cabin crew and hence there is never a lack of supply of young wannabe aspirants...so, the airline just needs small reasons to fire people and throw them out..and also has a ready-made replacement of people who would die to take that place..hence the airline doesn't care about its crew...you are just a number to them, easily replaceable...and unless you got any high end contacts with mjnisters or captains you are a nothing and a nobody..underpaid and overworked, constantly fatigued...so please appreciate those hardworking souls that I like to call cabin crew, 👍

That's exactly the point is about every occupation and job out there for women which always focus on their physical appearance. And I'm talking about big brands who always want good looking female employees with a class and standard; like fuck the knowledge and skills, she's only born, raised up, and then even involving in the work for you to feel sexually hyped and pleased. She is not there to please you or sexually hype you pervert, she's just there to give her services of hospitality and comfort.
I feel so fucking sad how in real-life scenarios as well, many women went far ahead from their professional code and involve in relationships, hookups, and other fantasy-related things while being at work and on the premise of the work area. Where are your moralities mam? Or just work ethics and true determination for work? Where your respect goes away for your own job and purpose of doing it? A few days back you were putting on social media about giving women equal opportunities and first respecting them. So for what concrete aspect we shall respect you? Take opportunities and build yourself. But if being independent means you will play your perfect role to promote the idea of seeing you as a sexual object or machine... No scope there at all.

While i completely agree beauty isn't the whole personality but its a very important and crucial part of personality . And the saying that don't judge a book by its cover is right but not complete , it lacks the fact - why buy it in the first place ? You will buy the book only if its cover seems interesting to you. Any person with mere common sense will understand this . So i guess even after being sexist its the way it would have to be till there is a radical change in people's believes....

more you keep something away from someone, more they will desire it... in india, specially in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, environment is not conducive for having good sexual health among people... women are always taught to maintain distance, wear full covering clothes, and efforts are being made so that men and women dont get close.. pre maritial sex is viewed as taboo... example, see sex culture in iceland, women wear whatever they want, they have sex openly... infact sex is the first step of their friendship... in india its last... and thats why men just dont keep focusing on sexual pleasure and act like predators all the times because its very easily avaiable... you can just and ask any woman for sex.. and its considered normal... so a good sex culture like iceland produces people who dont think about sex...and opposite is india.
