When she said they always tried to control her and tell her to be quiet and it was her talking that saved her.
They tried to control me and get me to be a puppet. It's my rebellion and refusal to be told what to do that saved me!

I feel this was sent to me by divine inspiration. Recently I found myself "stuck" and could not figure out why I had become basically immobile. Another night sitting on the couch staring into space, wanting and needing something to jumpstart me. CZcams mindlessly playing on the TV and then this started playing in the feed. It's 2:30 AM and instead of sleep I intently watch the whole thing. Went to bed inspired. Woke up with renewed hope. So blessed to have found this.

I watched Iyanla jump in full body, mind and soul to truly show love to people and watched some people call her disgusting names that Black women without European features are often called. When that one child cursed her she set a new boundary that she would no longer interact with people who disrespected her. The following year she announced the end of her show. No matter how old you are, how awakened and loving you are it gets tired being bullied.

Oh my God. She came in my life at the right time at the appointed time at the divine time. I had an opportunity to interview her. And it was a wonderful experience I will never forget it. My biggest take away is when Iyanla answered Oprah’s question of why do we keep living negatively and not the opposite and Iyanla said it’s because we can control the negative parts of ourselves and in fact we trust that that is what will show up, but it’s the inability to trust that we can have happiness because we feel that we have no control over the unknown/ positive outlook.

I am inspired by and love Maya Angelou. She inspired me and reminded me that I am not alone and how to prove that. When I walk on stage, bring those that I know loved/loves me along with me. Who are your rainbows? Be a rainbow in somebody else's life. Also, when you got God with you, you have all the people that you need. Set up boundaries and stick to them.
