Glad I found this!! This was my introduction to Paul Thorn, and this song, when it aired on Bob & Tom's radio show...in like, 2008(?). I used to drive throughout KS, NE, and OK for my job (before I retired in 2012). Only time I could get the B & T show, was when I was in OK, NE, or near Wichita, KS, or KC. Loved listening to the show. It introduced me to not only Thorn, but also Here Come The Mummies; Rodney Carrington; "The Guitar Guy" (I can't think of his name); comedian Jim Gaffigan; and many more.😎
I have looked for two decades, trying to find the fable song,"I'm sorry but you're a little too late", about a guy having a similar day, ending in him robbing a bank just a little too late, 'cause the first robber got away', the bank was out of money. If anybody has any information to where to find it. Turn me on, Paul Thorn would have a ball with that song. It's from the mid-to-late 50's
joe maugans they are still on. still on Q95 in indy but you can hear them all over just depends on your city. I paid for the pod cast for a year when I was over seas. best money I had spent in a long time. would wait until the end of the week load up the ipod with the entire week of shows and listen to it for hours as I drove or worked
This should be regarded as the Working Man's National Anthem.
I know right especially when Men have to deal with their Wives constant and persistent Nagging Bitching and Griping
Man - we listen to this in the office a couple of times a week. An oldie? Sure... but it is a GREAT SONG!.
Glad I found this!!

Foolish Pride! Be humble and Kind!
Story of my freakin' life.
@ThunderStrikesCOD yes it is
simple but freaking gensius. I just had one of those days today
out of 22,471 people, 2 have had a great day.
I always thought this was a Randy Newman song.
Sounds like my life. Lol.
Anyone got the chord diagrams to this?
what was the name of the song about sandy Duncan ?
There's a Heywood Banks song called "One Eye Love" that Bob and Tom used to play a lot that mentions Sandy Duncan. Great tune!
anyone able to lend a hand finding the "it's gonna be a great day" song?
it's on a cd called A Long Way from Tupelo
Someone sped Paul's voice to a Chipmunk's and set it to a Old Man!
what happened to the bob and tom show?
Its a radio show in Indianapolis on Q95 (94.7)
Torie McFarland It's a national syndicated radio show. It's on hundreds of stations.

+RE H this is true but their show is indeed broadcast out of the Indy studios of Q95. I run into Bob ever week at least once on my way into the lab.
I think I heard an alien sing this once
lol
Why have I always pictured him as a black guy?
Maybe because he's from Meridian, Miss.
I'm singing this song to myself the moment I get ambushed by nasty cave-dwelling creepy-crawlies on Ark.
Sbstewart20
And all this time I thought that it was a black guy singing.
I.... I thought so too....
I thought it was an ol' grizzly of man.
Thats so not racist im offended
I thought the same thing.
THIS SONG IS WHAT SHOULD BE REVERTED AS WHITE MAN'S MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's what brock lesnar said to the little MEXICAN . . . LOL
lol
