I would have thought for this anniversary programme they could have also invited Des Lynam as well to be in Dictionary Corner, even if they managed to show a vid of Richard Whiteley.

In the description it says broadcast on Tuesday 2 November 2007 but 2 November 2007 was actually a Friday. 2 October 2007 was a Tuesday though so was the 2 January thinking about it.

That conundrum anagram was ironic with Connor Travers being there... they probably did that deliberately.

    8x7 minus 2 gives 54
    3 plus 3 plus 4 = 10
    54x 10 = 540
I think solved within 30 seconds

Channel 4 once actually got sued for allowing Conor to have a glass of champagne in his hand; he was only 17 at the time!

Why were they fined though?? There is no law against a 17 year old drinking champagne.
It’s only illegal for them to buy it.
A sixteen year old can be bought alcohol and have it with a ‘meal’ though in reality that can mean anything eg a packet of crisps.
Hard to prove. Hope a Channel 4 challenged the ridiculous fine.

for the numbers game my way is the same but got 7 by saying 4+3 and getting the 10 by adding the real 7 to the other 3

Aint been the same since Carol's vacation. Channel 4 treated Carol like shit and left her with no option but to go. If they wanted a young slim lass instead, why didn't they just say so.

But you have to have the same amount of brains to go on Jeopardy, and that game show is successful here in North America, so why not Countdown? I think the networks didn't even try.
