  • My Micra K11 was due a service and this is my exploits doing it. On the Micra a service is pretty straight forward and well within home DIY, though you need the car on ramps or axle stands so you can get to the oil filter. I hope you find this video helpful.
The Micra K11 service schedule is 10000 miles, mine had done 8500 and been nearly three years. I only do 25 miles a week on average so I don’t worry if not done every year. In the old days when I did 1000s a year then it was done at mileage or annually regardless.
    Thank you for watching

I wonder if the designers of K11 put the oil drain plug in the rear of the sump for us DIY mechanics who do servicing just like in this video - driving only the front end of the car on the ramps 🤔 Great video, good information and nice editing 👍

Glad you liked it, thank you. It could have been designed for ease of maintenance, mostly the Micra K11 is pretty easy to work on all over. A shame though the oil filter is not in an easier place to get to.

Right. Is that the one without a distributor? I have a 1999 1.3 (1275) that thanks to the Mayor of London I will have to scrap. So sad, had it 19 years, only 90k on the clock, still purring along with lots of miles still left in her. 😢

@@stevedowns9450 if you decide you must sell her don't scrap her, try the Nissan Micra K11 Owners Group UK on Facebook. You'd need join but someone on there would love to have yours I'm sure and get better price than scrap. Not to mention she would live on.

I saw one video where it was removed from the side, which might be easier I don't know. I always found it a pain to remove.

how often would you do this?

    • @WelshRob1964

The book says every 10000 miles, which is what I do. But I am a low mileage driver and gentle with her, if doing 10000 a year or drive hard then I would say every 6000 miles.
