Every skater will spend some time skating alone sooner or later. Although some people prefer skating alone, most people would prefer skating with friends, but that's not always an option. In this video, we go over a few tips for skateboarding alone.

I remember when I started skating, it would ONLY be at night at this basketball court cause I used to get nervous in the day. And when I skated with someone for the first time at night, he couldn't do anything cause it was "too dark" so I basically got night vision now, lol

I bring my speaker because earphones give me a headache now, and I typically play something everyone vibes to but sometimes I genuinely don't give a shit and will play whatever. Guess I'm "that guy"

@@eihtoneiht1320 I bmx not skate, but go to a skatepark and meet people. I hang out with both skaters and bmx riders, and I wouldn’t have stuck with it without them.
I do it all the time. I thought it was normal but I've had a few skater friends ask who Im skating with and when I say myself they act shocked or comment something like "oh so you ain't going with anyone?". But I've landed my first heelflip skating for an hour in the evenings for a few nights by myself.

Skating alone can be sketchy sometimes though folks, I went out skating alone one time and somehow found my way back to my friends with a concussion, don’t remember where I was, how long I was unconscious (if I was), how I fell. Glad they were close by though and I didn’t end up worse off. So just be safe out there homies 💙

Yea I usually go out with my brother, even though he doesn’t skate it just makes me feel better if there is someone else there that I can call on if needed.
Im more scared of all the wasps where I’m at. I never have been stung and as a result am scared of being allergic and not knowing.
I have no skating buddies yet and I am very new to this, so I do it in a semi-public place in case I get badly injured. Nice to have a fired department neaby also😂
I barely skate with anyone, ( I have no friends that skate ),so I decided to put in my airpods and play my favorite music, and I just blew threw my progression. I go kickflips more consistent, almost landed my first treflip and backside flip. Before, I barely had kickflips and I would get bored easily.

Same my first week i would get unmotivated and bored. Id also get self conscious cus i live in a small town so barely good spots to skate where there isnt like 60 cars passing through every 5-10 mins. But ever since i just put my music on i can now do an ollie consistently, frontside 180s more consistent but not perfect yet, and occasionally land a few pop shuvits.
sounds good, i'm skating since almost 2 Months now.. doing mostly boardslides and 180's😺 still cant ollie.. boardslides on a funbox so i can jump up on the rail 😂

Just ordered my first board. I'm currently in a small town college 1700 miles away from home bored with classes and gaming. So I'm hoping I can do this as there are many neat paths throughout the town, It does feel awkward getting into skateboarding at 18. I tried it at 14, busted my hip and recently got the urge to give it another go.
I kinda prefer skating alone because I can just focus on myself but I also like skating with friends because if the skatepark is busy, I get so self conscious like I’m getting in peoples way, and if my friend is there I’m like less embarrassed ig 😂

I like skateboarding alone, usually go out really late or early in the morning. Tom Penny; one of the best skaters ever skateboarded alone all the time 🛹

First real skate sesh alone ended with me flying face first into a lamppost and busting my nose really bad. Lucky I've got a thick skull. Stay safe out there peeps.
I'm bipolar :/ I enjoy skating alone bc i can go at my own pace but i hate feeling lonely. But i have fun skating with friends and it usually allows me to feel more comfortable doing tricks.

Man you clearly miss out on great relationsships, try approaching them by just asking them, whats their favourite music to skate too, or what inspires them on skating. Be proactive, invest in yourself. People and relationships are the greatest asset on earth!

I skate by myself a lot, mostly because I don’t know anyone else my age that skates.
My top tips are - 1. celebrate your accomplishments, big or small, give yourself credit.
2. When possible watch other local skaters, it’s a good way to learn and progress.
3. Don’t be afraid to go to the skatepark by yourself or if your just starting. Everyone there started at the beginning, no one will make fun of you.
Skating with friends is more fun and you often learn something new because of them. Alone time is for consistency but I always get frustrated when things don't work out.
If you can't nail a trick, practice one you can already do, always end your sesh on a positive note

One thing that helps when i skate alone is to think of it like the gym.
For consistency, think reps and doing the same trick over and over for x amount of time or tricks.
then a new trick, pr (personal record) or in this case, a new trick. And like he said a quote on quote "New trick" doesn't have to be a different trick just the same trick on something else (5-0 on a ledge, 5-0 on the bump to flat bar) same as how 280 on the legpress is different than 280 for squating
Skating alone actually makes filming a lot easier for me! I look at skating solo as “time to work”, and skating with friends as “time to have some fun”. With that being said it’s all fun. Just different types.
I'm fundamentally someone who prefers to be alone or with a very select group of people.
I find skating alone therapeutic, necessary, but sometimes having just 1 or 2 buddies that really care about your progress and stoking you on, is also so important.

For all of u struggling with this trick go a bit faster if u are stationary you’ll hit ur shins don’t focus on popping focus on scooping it and turning ur shoulders

i find it awkward to be there alone, since I'm a new skater. i also found out i was pushing with the front foot and i was already kinda used to it yet i had skated w it for 2 days and today i started skating w the back foot, my right. i find it so hard and i feel like i just get scared sometimes and run off the board lol. I'm trying to be comfortable on the board but it's just hard. i have no skateparks in my area at all so i just have to skate down small hills on concrete. i also just kinda sometimes fall even if I just started pushing. i need some tips maybe? i know i just have to skate a lot but maybe there's some tips i can use/keep in mind when skating.

Either my friends dont skate, or they live far away so i just cruises the same path on my longboard. I do pass skateboarders but theyre always carrying the board since i guess they can handle the hills. I do like getting compliments and stares while passing people tho, honestly a good feeling👌🏽

there’s not many people around my age that skate in london so i mostly do it by myself and it’s always crowded here
IMO learning new stuff is cool with friends, getting tricks on lock/constantly is for the end and beginning of the session, skating alone is for cruising and doing the tricks that you have on lock

Listening to music while skating an empty lot near a main road helps me hone in on what I’m trying to accomplish and keeps my brain from getting distracted by verbal stunting drivers, pedestrians and the nagging mentality thoughts that surface that I don’t want to think about. I’m usually pretty good at brushing off unnecessary toxic garbage that comes my way, but listening to music definitely adds extra padding and hype to a session.
I just started skating again after a 8 years break, it's way better alone sometimes cuz I can relearn and be on my own time
