The more I look at this draft the more I think we nailed it. Not getting a RB feels like a big miss at 1st glance but a deeper dive into whatâs going on in our division and you realize we needed what we got more. The NFC east has big O lines and Dlines. Theyâre big and physical. Then you look at the 2 D tackles that the Eagles got in the 1st round the last 2 drafts and it becomes clear we couldnât have done better. A huge athletic L tackle feels a need and allows the Mayer Tyer Smith inside where he matches up with them. Beebe is another powerful mauler along with Zack and now we can match up with anyone. Size youth, and athleticism was also needed along our Dline. I donât think based on our needs and draft position we could have hit better. Maybe more pass rush but not at the expense size and run defense.
Marist feels like our worse pick because half of us wanted a RB and the other half wanted Wilson. RB will haunt us this year but if we canât stop the run we going to throwing every play anyway. Marist doesnât miss any more plays than anyone not named Wilson, it just his misses stand out more because when he commits, he is all in. The upside is he makes way more big plays when he doesnât miss. I think Zimmer will bring down the misses. He might be like Diggs, his misses are ugly but he makes up for it by his big plays. We need playmakers on defense especially at LB.i saw the CB line up against Keon and he can stay with top WRs.
Nobody is including Trey Lance but he is our 4th. That kind of QB talent with a 4th is a win.
The WR has been called a sleeper on several media pieces Iâve seen. A little size and 4.4 speed has tools you hope to find late.
A big DT late always provides value.
Look at our division and it makes a lot more sense!
