Except surprisingly few Chinese speak English. From what I heard, the attitude is much different from common people if you can speak at least some of their language. And many hotels, especially outside bigger cities do not accept foreigners.

Many people have said it’s totally safe for single women to travel in China because there are cameras everywhere.
Is safe for women to travel in China but they should still have awareness of their surrounding as any travellers do. Safe don't mean testing your luck walking to a dark alley alone even though it has been tested. 😂 Camera will help capture any criminals quickly and it deter people from committing crimes.
Most people are usually friendly and helpful due to Chinese culture, you respect them they will do the same respecting you but as in any culture there are always good and bad people no matter where you go, just be mindful.

All you "China-vloggers" must remember that China today is only 45 years old. That is why everything is so new and clean. When i was there 1979 there was nothing! It is a fantastic progress in 45 years, but there is 5 times more people than the USA as well. Love your vlogs. But have the history in mind.
