If I were to have kids I would prioritize talking about their emotions so that they can be aware of what they are feeling and being able to express and handle it properly. The last thing that I would want to happen to my kids is to traumatize or mentally scar them, which might affect their personality/behavior later on in life. After all I am the one who decided to bring them into the world so no matter how hard it is, it's my full responsibility to guide them as best as I can to become good people.

This episode was too short. You guys need to turn this into something like an hour-long podcast, where u can record and post the video on CZcams, and maybe the audio on Spotify. These topics are actually remarkably interesting and need to be explored more.

I will never hit my child, what’s the point are they animals or sth? Or do you just lack the ability to communicate and teach your children well that you must use ancient physical methods to discipline them. So many other ways of disciplining why must physical. To me parents that hit children either don’t know how to parents or have anger issues and transfer the anger onto their children.

I gotta be honest, nothing beats the chemistry of the OG crew- John, Dew, Saf and Jade. I'm not really sure what happened, but I do hope that there will be special appearances from them in the future. I don't really feel the chemistry among the new crew. However, IMO, Kishan, Eric and John is the reason why i still come back for more haha.

Same sia. Normally it's my mum who does the disciplining at home. So caning was the norm and she doesn't really whip that hard. Hard enough for the red marks to appear only.
But that one time. Cannot forget sia. Primary 4 morning session. The first time I decided not to go home straight away and go my friend's house to play at the playground. When I reached home at 7:30pm, my father was waiting for me. I knelt in the living room and he unleashed fury on me. I lost track of time during that ass whooping.
I just cry, bathe, have dinner and sleep.
After that day, I chiong home everyday after school. It was only until Secondary school where they gave me freedom to cycle around after school and play soccer at void deck and run away from police.

Not ever on this site, I am a kind, loving, grandmother. I am not Asian. I am so sorry any of you have had to endure this abuse. I hope and pray you all heal and recover from these internal wounds. It was not your fault in any way, what your parents did is illegal and punishable by law. I have worked professionally with kids for 20 years, get trauma counseling and reclaim your whole true identity. Don't just harden and become what you hate.....go back and take that trauma out of your sub conscious. Blessings!

Before I had my kid I also said the same thing like how i won’t turn out to be like my mum la whatever shit. My kid came out, C B his character 99% like me. There was once he screamed at me when I was scolding him and out of anger and reflex I slapped his face. Nose bleed immediately. But it was a wake up call for me also la to not be too harsh on my kid. End day parents just want their kid to turn out well. BUT, I still feel that there must be a balance. Like cannot totally don’t cane or whack them, but have to know what we are punishing them for, not due to anger then we do that.

(gf using bf acc) my mum i think is the worst person lmao if i was on the show i'd cry from recounting and talking about the things she used to do to me (up till now) while going through depression and anxiety at the same time.My mum has a habit of screaming at me,throwing my things across the hallway at me and also locking my bedroom so that i cant use it when shes upset. When she does unlock my room,my things inside my cupboard and on the table are strewn everywhere onto the floor as she violently threw them out.One time i forgot to mop the floor and she already prepared a bucket of water with the mop detergent inside, then she just threw the water onto the floor and flooded my bedroom floor with it (water got under the cupboard and she made me shift everything myself to mop up the water).Last time younger she used to cane me so hard that my skin would split literally and bleed lol,but it didnt hurt bc she used so much strength that my skin just numb when she hit.Now got one cane scar on my left bicep. She also used to cut chilli padi and force it into my mouth as punishment. So yeah all the things she did to me all built up inside me-the hate, fear, sadness etc. led me to having severe depression (on top of other problems) and i attempted to commit suicide but ultimately failed.Only my father was there by my side the whole time and even so he was subjected to her fits and bouts of anger, including getting his stuff thrown out of the house without permission).Idk if what she did to me was discipline lmao but i guess instilling fear in me was a form of discipline for her so that whatever she asks me to do i'd do it straight away and not wait i ask to do then do??

Children below age 5 should be disciplined physically because they are unable to understand reason but they understand pain. After age 5 they should not be physically disciplined but need to be reasoned with. But a lot of adults failed to understand or doesn't have the patience to explain.
