The thing is Stan culture will allow him to thrive and do more than fine so unfortunately we won’t be able to forget about his existence.
Out of that whole shitty group , I do think Jeff was the most genuine. Even coming on the show wasn’t the best move for him but he did it because he obviously felt he personally did nothing wrong. Hanging out with LA social climbers is by far some of the most toxic shit a genuine human can do to themselves and he’s deep in the mix. His job revolves around it and his “friends” are also kinda like businesses partners to help promote himself. Extremely shitty life style and I feel bad for the dude. That dobrik kid just needs to get checked so he understands he ain’t shit.
I agree with your take especially the part of Jeff being a genuine human being. Only really good people give passes to AHOLES.
I think he is very talented and his barbershop videos were some of the funniest content from that entire VS group. He has comedic talent is handsome and has great hair, all reasons that DD would hate him and possibly hurt him because that’s what sociopaths do!

Blame is shared 50/50! Its extremely heartbreaking what happened, but you have to be able to look at this situation, for just this one situation and not all the other mess involving David Dobrik. From the documentary episodes, It showed David being there and helping his friend,however, its very clear that David dealt with extreme guilt and every single time they were together Jeff would jokingly but meaningly talk about his eye and send David photos of ice cream scoopers as a means of telling him which one to pick to have his eye scraped out by Jeff himself. I totally understand how Jeff feels, he feels like David gets the notoriety and the clicks while others risk their life for the content. Its quite a normal reaction for people to distance themselves from friends when their is a serious injury much less being the one that caused it, however, from what I saw in that documentary was Jeff pushing David away by making him feel immense amounts of guilt that he was already feeling. And thats totally okay Jeff has to be able to heal not physically but mentally and forgive , but he cant expect someone to call and seek him out when he is very open about blaming him. Put yourself in that situation, would you openly seek someone out that you almost killed and feel extremely guilty about physically hurting knowing that they have to live with those injuries for the rest of his life while they are actively have let you know that they are mad at you, blame you, even question him doing it on purpose, and etc. The whole thing is extremely sad on Jeffs side however you cant expect something to reach out when you have actively added on to the guilt that person is feeling and then get mad and finally come out. Im just going off videos of what I have seen maybe there is more to the story, but until then I can only go by what i have seen. It was messed up that he didnt pay and caused bad credit for Jeff but we also have to question who is incharge of handling those finances for david or was it david at fault.
@@AmreeHolliday I see where you’re coming from, but I believe that David’s platform is the entire problem with this situation. So what if he can’t reach out (if he was a real friend he would) he could at least show remorse or issue a direct apology to sympathize with Jeff, and he never did. He failed to take accountability and let alone criticism from those who defied him (shown by cutting off any negative content to save his reputation). I’m not a psychologist, but I can also see why people could call him a sociopath.
If those friends leave you for telling the truth about David, then they are not your friends they are David’s friends!

Probably not even friendship ending would be the reason. They are probably afraid of they go against them they'll fall out and the millions they've made isn't enough for them; they're going to keep wanting more. Zane & Heath are genuinely so funny & Jeff is very likable. I think those named would do great without him but the others probably would fall off without him like (almost)all the others who left

@@ryanballd I actually used to watch Jeff - he was the only vlog squad member who really made engaging content on their own pre David and dude was really sharp at least in terms of his wit and comedy which I do think is a pretty good indicator of intelligence in some capacity. I actually found Jeff through Cody Ko's Jake Paul confrontation video not the Vlog Squad lol and while he's clearly not a super educated dude loyalty did seem huge to him. He did a whole series trying to help a buddy of his when he got out of jail, promoting his channel, giving him work, I think he even moved him into his place. He also did a whole series trying to help Jonah and his family lose weight and he seemed like the only one who doesn't look down on the family and use them as the butt of a joke. I unfollowed Jeff when the OG Starbucks drama went down in real time - I'd been watching Trisha's videos and honestly David calling Corinna a nasty whore all the time made me inclined to believe he was probably shitty, but I do understand why Ethan has a soft spot for Jeff, I did as well.
Jeff was always way too good for David, his humor actually feels human and it’s light years ahead of David’s loud=funny

The only people in that group that could last outside of the vlog squad are Jeff, Jason and Jonah. They all have a personality, talent and I actually see them doing a lot outside of that stupid cult. Idk why Jason is still there especially , he literally has the platform and resources to leave and be successful. Jonah i can see doing really well with acting. I feel like he would be so funny on his own. Corinna yeah I guess, but I see her more in adult entertainment. I’ve heard she’s very successful with her only fans content, but idk if that would equal long term profit. We all know how quick they were to notify people there would be drastic changes that would hurt thousands of people. It could easily happen again.

Well 'total clown' is a bit much. I think his loyalty trait is admirable, but yeah it definitely needs to be balanced because not everyone is worthy of it. It must have been difficult going through something traumatic and having to admit a friend you were attached to is to blame. Sometimes you just go into denial a little bit when something awful happens because its easier to stomach

Ethan I really enjoy your content but if you're gonna call some apart of a cult and then they leave the cult you cant turn around and then get mad they arent speaking out soon enough. He is going to have to process everything. I'm not making excuses for what he did, but he probably hasnt even fully processed the things he has been involved in. If hes been on pain meds for years now he is probably disassociating a lot and has blotchy memory. Not to mention the PTSD he got from the event and damage to his brain. Honest question from an out of touch 33 year old: who is David Dobriks content even for? Is it in the same vein of reality tv? It always seems so contrived and uninteresting. Who’s compelled to watch it? Young kids?
Wondering the same. Im in my early 20s and no-one i know watches or watched david doberik. I only heard of him through other sources referencing to his videos.
All his fans are children who dont know any better. Thats why he continues to get a ton of views after being exposed for all these terrible things, same with the Jake/logan paul
I had an adhd hyperfixation on his videos for like a month when I was 15 and never watched him again after that lmao, I think it's for children with short attention spans
It’s for people who want to vicariously live his lifestyle. His content is literally “look at how awesome my life is”. He’s like the inverse of Mr. Beast.
I actually looked at the comments sections in some of his videos. It seems to be a combination of 2 types of people. #1: people from impoverished developing countries who don’t know any better. They just see a guy give his friends a free car or something and assume “ he’s a good man he gives away free stuff”. And #2: people with really sad empty lives, who always post something to the effect of “David, I was so depressed today but your video made me smile”.
Either way the picture is pretty bleak. Dobriks demographic is basically ignorant, sad people who seem to be struggling in one way or another
When David had that Compton dude think he was hooking up with a baddie to then find out it was a fake out and he kissed a dude and had to move because everyone saw it was the worst imo
David definitely did Jeff dirty. All of them definitely have faults but I genuinely feel bad for him. David’s just very selfish. Period. Self absorbed
