I like them as a duet for all the reasons mentioned: talent, happiness they share to sing together. When Savannah sang an excellent solo recently, I was like "oh no" solely because I like them so much together. So here's the deal (in other words, my rules...ha ha); either can sing a solo but then an encore must be a duet.

I agree with you about how great her voice is but at chamber choir callbacks at my local high school there were, I think, about twice as many altos as there were sopranos. I'm personally a mezzo-soprano, but many of us were encouraged to try for the soprano parts to increase our chances of making it.

What a lucky Dad, got a daughter who shares his passion for singing. I'm sure he didn't even expect or wish for this.
I certainly didn't expect any of this. But really, I am just so grateful that people are recognizing Savanna's hard work. I am very proud of her!
Your voices are beautiful beyond words. Listening to you both sing is such a peaceful + powerful thing. The way you( Mat) look at savanna is so amazing to watch. Pride, love, genuine parental feeling are all there. My granddaughter is the same age. She is a beautiful smart talented young adult. She has written+ performed classical piano pieces. She dances on a pro team + has a beautiful singing voice. But the most important thing is her humility + love towards friends + family. And- there is no dad caring+ loving her. He bailed when she was 2 yrs old. So it breaks my heart - when I see matâs complete love for savanna while at the same time feeling so privileged to observe a rare event in this time we live in- - a father loving his daughter.
