When I was at Miami (under President Garland) there was a strong initiative to be the #1 public university in the nation. Not only didn't they not achieve that, they've regressed from a rankings standpoint. Other MAC schools are now on par with Miami. The school is beautiful with a very strong student body, but the teaching, lack of research, and administration leaves much to be desired.
Question of the day, does Miami, like many colleges encourage students to apply who have no chance of being admitted just to make their selectivity look higher?
