That was a really enjoyable video along with a nice refresher course. I was always acquainted with the cross cancel division breakdown (dividing 6 and 12 and then multiplying) on the second math problem.

this is funny, I had some questions written like "3/4 of 20" which I easily understood as just 3 quarters of 20, but when it got to "150 x 2/3" I thought you had to do something completely different so I looked this up. while theres another way to do it, it turns out it actually gets the same result, weird

So the fact no remainder on the second problem means the denominator doesn't carry over and create 10/6 or 3/5's? Also, I think a large part of understanding mathematics is to have some English summary. Denominator is like denomination or what (unit of measure) you are counting by. This stuff is what has me struggling sometimes.

Anyone wondering how the second works:
    12/1 * 5/6=2/1*5/1=2*5=10
We shorten 12 with 6 ( ie we divide them 12/6=2)

What is the purpose of making it 12/1 first? A whole number multiplies the numerator of a fraction, 12x5=60, 60/6=10.

When it comes to the value of these symbols, such as the number 7, it is rarely explained to me what the value of these numbers represent; almost as if these numbers represent values independent of any REAL values being assigned to them first. Seven cars for example, cannot be equal to seven apples, nor surly is seven of anything equal to seven of something else.

WAIT.. imma try to calculate the second one rq
12x5 is 60 and 1 x6 =6 but 60/6 is am improper fraction i think so we need to think of how many of 60 goes into 6 which is 10 and we have no remainder so is it just 6/10? idkk my brain is literally going to malfunction soon

I don't understand this part: h-how?! 4 groups of 3 is 12 right? How did he get the remainder 2?!

    • @hanmozhou5864
      @hanmozhou5864 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Bruh no
Look i’ll explain because im so kind 😉
      Ok,so he got to 14 over 3
(Now to make it not an improper fraction,he has to do something, and that ‘something’ is DIVIDE!)
So he has to do 14 divide by 3,which gives you 12,remainder 2
BECAUSE:3x4=12 and 3x5=15 and it has to be less than 14 or exactly 14
so the answer was 4 whole numbers (because 3x4 is 12)
And the 2 is the numerator (because its the remainder!)
      I Hope This Helped :)
