Thank you for this video! So fun. Do you have any thoughts on the Nike Zoom Rival S9 or M9 for younger long jumpers & sprinters? Wondering if a spikeless waffle shoe or maybe a mid-distance spike would be ok as well. Not sure how a mid distance spike would do in shorter sprints though.
Id say for younger runners, whatever feels good is best. I used a sprint spike for HJ, LJ, and any running events I did in middle school. Most important to just have fun!

I'm still undecided whether to buy spikes (I'm leaning towards the "Puma Evospeed Distance Nitro Elite+ 2" or the "Puma evoSPEED Star 8") or to stick with regular running shoes and use my indoor shoes for the sprint. I would greatly appreciate a response.

At the armory, you have to walk down from the seating upstairs and go to the checking table before the race. When do I put my spikes on? Do I just put my spikes on before I go into the checking area Sorry Ik this question is confusing! Also, do I put the spikes into the shoes when I get to the race or do I do that at home? Thank you and I'm sorry for these dumb questions.
Hey Dawson! That’s awesome, good luck in your race tomorrow. Put the actual spikes in at your house so they are ready when you get to the armory. You most likely want to have them already on when you go to the checking table considering you should be all warmed up and have done a few starts in the spikes already! If you check in and it is still a while until you race, you dont need to have them on

i would say you can use sprint spikes for the 800 but not the 1600. the 1600 takes so much energy you need a little bit of cushioning and a little less traction than sprint spikes. as long as you can hold good form for most of an 800 than go for it.,

Have you ever run in spikes without socks? I know some spikes are designed for running without socks, but if you have how do you ease into it? And does it make you run faster or does it make it more uncomfortable?
i have, but i prefer having socks on. it depends on whatever feels the most comfortable. I have slimmer feet so socks usually help the shoe fit better. without, i tend to side around a bit inside the shoe. if you have larger feet, maybe no socks will fit better. socks also help keep them smelling better haha
if you’re getting blisters when you don’t have socks, i wouldn’t recommend continuing to wear them. i dont think you really need to ease into it, you will tell if it is comfortable or not pretty quick. also you can play around with thickness/style of socks you likr

they run small in that nike tends to run small in general. I would say they run narrow compared to nikes other sprint spikes.
