    Hi Deepa...i thought it was called"Hardi" Night...since the bride is rubbed down with Hardi...can you explain what its called exactly and why. Thanks

      Well, in Trinidad, we're familiar with saying Hardi. The proper name is Haldi they both are the same (Turmeric) here is the best explanation I found for you.

      Here in Trinidad, turmeric is referred to as hardi, which is a distortion of the word haldi, derived from the Sanskrit haridra
