    Much respect brother, i was a miner then became a section boss with 13 years total. Moved, quit it all, and now i work in a steel mill

    July 8th 1930 my great grandpa died when a big piece of slate fell on him and crushed him. He was 30 years old. I have nothing but upmost respect to these great men that risk their lives everyday for America.

    This is a very high seam. My dad was a pinner man, the last mine he was in was 18 inches in some spots, but mostly about 22 inches. He had to bend the bolts twice to get them in, then straightened them. Miners are the toughest men alive.

      The coal seam was only 42in

      But the place was higher than 42". He should have raised his canopy up.

      @@Gooseberries773 the canopy wouldn’t go up no higher. It’s all the way up. It’s a low coal pinner, canopy wasn’t built to go any higher

    I hated that shit. Itmann #5 with Consol. Still dealing with that. Bad top all over the place.

    my dad got covered up at bell County county coal in 85 doing that. broke his back
