I am the owner of (Irene's Braids) located in Duluth, GA. I'm always accepting new clients. I work out of my own private Salon Suite.
Today's client has been dealing with hair loss for last few years. She noticed her hair loss more after being prescribed to take blood pressure pills. She has been wanting to wear braids for awhile now but wasn't sure it could be done.
I decided to try a new technique today by using cornrows braids for my base vs the net. I also applied Anchor braids to create strands of hair to apply my braid on top of.
The out come is beautiful, and ofcourse my client is super excited to finally wear braids

This is beautiful. I have alopecia on the right side of my head due to radiation therapy for brain tumors. The hair has never grown back years later. I know that many medical conditions and treatments can lead to alopecia. Thank you for showing this. Also, thank you for the care and compassion you showed your client.

When I was younger, one of my step dads cousins used to have me braid his hair. He had a bald patch at the top and I would do something similar to this. I didn’t understand then, but part of me wishes that I kept going. Could have helped a lot of people!!! Great job. It turned out beautifully

Thank you for this new technique. I have hair loss in my crown and I will try this so my braids will be fuller.
I'll be 45 in a few months and started noticing the thinning and spotting around my crown about 10 years ago maybe. No one has ever told me that it's scalp alopecia. I just always assumed that since my maternal grandfather had balding in those areas and i started noticing it with my mom years ago as i grew up, that it was male-patterned baldness. I guess a dermatologist would have to make that call though. I love this technique and look. You did an AMAZING job. I've just always been nervous when getting braids done (even though i have several times) about it possibly making matters worse. I big chopped and went natural (for the 2nd time) 4 years ago. And although my hair has grown back several inches, i can still see the thinness in and around my crown. Think I'm going to have someone try this method on me when I decide to get the box braids that I've been considering for a while now. thanks for this video.
genetics plays a large role. I have weak edges since i was a child, and so does other women in my family.

Thank you for coming up with this. I don't know what I'm going through but my hair is thinning in the front center almost in the same area as your client. I don't understand why my hair started coming out in handfuls when it was just thick and long but I am trying to wear crochets and twists and this is a good idea to use.

very impressed with how you did this. I also have alopecia and recently shaved my head completely bald. Well over a year ago.. now I am bored and am going to attempt to braid my less than an inch TWA. I hope this works for me an my hair can hold this style.

Great job. I loved how you cornrolled the thin hair to make it fuller and the braids were very neat. Im going to try this. I always use the net or the zig zag method.
Awesome! You did an EXCELLENT job! I've actually been using that method for about 2yrs, but I criss-cross braids over the area to cover a lil more scalp in some areas. I feel like it takes a lil more stress off of the hair in the front so it doesn't begin to fall out also. Again... GREAT JOB! I'm sure you boosted her self confidence tenfold! 😍
Do you find with your method less breakage? I did like how clever the braider’s technique was for coverage, but long term it seems risky to me.

This is pretty, I know the feeling of wanting braids. How the tension is too much for my thin hair.
What about using brading hair and a wig cap and making a wig that way you could still get the braids without the added stress to your hair
