  • For my 345th review, I’m gonna be taking a look at the new Post Malone album “F-1 Trillion.”
    How did we get here?
Favorite Song(s): I Had Some Help (relative to everything else here)
Other Songs I Rock With: Nosedive (mostly because of Lainey Wilson), Never Love You Again, M-E-X-I-C-O
Songs I Could Take Or Leave: Wrong Ones, Pour Me A Drink, What Don’t Belong To Me, Goes Without Saying, Guy For That, Losers, Devil I’ve Been, Missin’ You Like This, California Sober, Yours (even though the lyrics kinda weird me out)
Songs I’d Throw Away: Finer Things, Have The Heart, Hide My Gun, Right About You
    Rating: Awful

Well that’s a beautiful thing! Music is the most subjective medium imo, and different music hits for different people, so I’m glad this album connected to you in the way that you did.

I liked the solo songs way more than the big collabs

I can see that. Wasn't as huge on the solo songs, but I feel like they definitely show more of *his* country voice as opposed to whoever the feature is.

Really enjoyed the change up, some of the songs are really good. 75% of todays hiphop sounds like people chewing vicodin pills while singing into an autotune program. *Do not recommend channel*

I mean, I’m glad you liked the album more than I did, but umm…don’t know why you needed to bold “do not recommend channel” at the end there; is this a convenience store and you’re leaving a customer survey?
Plus, it seems weird to “not recommend” my channel just because of one review that you disagreed with. I’ve reviewed well over 300+ albums at this point, surely I’ve reviewed other albums you liked and it’s not worth getting that twisted over one opinion that is different from yours.

Your review on it is really bad tbh. If a person changes and enters different music genre it doesnt mean its bad or that person doenst have a proper identity in music. Posty is hella talented and he absolutely smashes every genre he enters in. He is loving the music he is making now, and he is the happiest now, according to his statement in interviews. Love his work, which he did in austin and f1 trillion album. Instrumental music masterpieces 💫.

My review isn’t bad just because you can’t handle a different opinion. I’m glad you enjoyed the album, but that doesn’t take away from my valid criticisms of it. Furthermore, him “switching genres” isn’t the reason I question his musical identity; it’s the fact that the switch-ups in my opinion don’t feel as confident or inspired as his old stuff. I’m glad you know so much about a celebrity you don’t know to tell me he’s enjoying the music he’s making and all that, but that doesn’t mean the music is above being criticized.

i just saw your review of posty autin album and yes i respect your opinion on it, but you still question about his identity in music and compares that album with his old stuff like beerbongs and bentleys when he used to make songs about his success, money, womens, cars and pills. He has slowy shifted himself from that and expresses all that shift in his recent songs.
I think He doesnt make songs anymore with the intention of getting it super hit like his old multiple hip hop songs crossing billion plus streams. His austin album has alot more vibe and plus there are no features init which makes it more special and pure. But yeah i didn't get it why his swicth up in genres dont feel inspired and confident compared to his old stuff.? I think making different vibe of songs and enjoying music as a whole by entering different genres, trying and making somthing good out of it is what makes posty special. Cuz every other singer makes songs with thier own unique style by which they get easily recognised that this song is of specific singer. For eg ciggretes after sex has his own style of music which is nearly more of less the same in every of his songs. This is not a bad thing at all. Weeknd too also have a special music style which only weeknd makes music from that style.Would love to hear your take on that.

I understand your take, but just because you tell me that he doesn’t make music for it to be a hit, doesn’t necessarily mean that I agree with you. I understand that he wants to switch genres - especially given that as someone who grew up in Texas he probably grew up around country music - but the problem is that, *to me,* his new stuff doesn’t sound inspired. This album, for example, sounds like several other pop country hits and albums that have come out over the last decade or so. Many of the songs sound like Post trying to sound like whoever he has featuring with him. Great country, to me, often has a very rustic feel to it, but this album feels too pristine to me, if I can say it like that. This is all just my opinion, and it’s fine if you disagree.
Oh, and as for the comparison to The Weeknd…I say this as a huge fan of his but his development is way different than Post’s. The Weeknd didn’t do a total about-face like Post did; his style changed in ways, yes, but his music still feels very distinctly “him.” In Post’s case, I understand that him changing sounds is his idea of not being put in a box, and I respect that, but the problem for me is that I can’t see who he really wants to be. He’s been too all-over-the-place to me, and it feels like he’s in that “jack of all trades, master of none” thing where he’s trying to *do* a lot of genres, but not finding one he can *master.* That’s just how I see it.

I love this album ! Post is so versatile, its a good switch up in my genres , tired of hip hop and very demonic music

Calling hip-hop “demonic” feels very narrow-minded (and also makes me wonder if you truly listen to it or if you just stereotype it), but nevertheless, I’m glad you enjoyed this album more than I did.
