    If you are the type of person who likes to play around with things, you will find you can do lots of neat stuff with the remote. You will need to be able to see the top of your Devialet, but you can adjust how much of the SAM processing is applied, change Phono RIAA, adjust the tone controls, and more, all from the remote using the front panel as the visual display.

    Love my Expert 220. One note if using WIFI - make sure the Devialet and your Roon Core are on the same network - and specifically on the same band. For example if you have a 5G band and your core is on 2.4 the Devialet will not find it. Strange quirk but works well with a strong WiFi network.

      Thanks for sharing, we found it to even sound better using Roon with Wifi. We appreciate you watching

    When setting the configuration for a mono sub, ensure you do not enable the 'balance' since this can cause stereo shifts to the right.

    If Devialet speakers are powered actively, what are these amps for? I see no mention of speakers in relation to D's very expensive amps.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Před 9 měsíci

      Great question. These integrated amps are for passive speakers and they do sound great.

      @bkik5 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@AudioAdvice - So not intended for Devialet speakers (yet) since they only currently make active speakers. I guess perhaps they're working a line of passive speakers.

      I use a Devialet 400 amp with my Magico s3 mk2s, they're a very solid amplifier. And can be bought second hand for a good price@@bkik5

    Not having native integration for streaming services like Qobuz and Tidal or internet radio streams, and having to rely on third party control point options is a deal breaker for me.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Před 2 lety +1

      It does have airplay and Spotify connect. We suspect as more companies add "connect"- which is coming from Tidal, they will add them in. Thanks for watching

      @@AudioAdvice I’ve been using Linn DS streaming devices since 2010, and now I’m looking for a ‘one box solution’. This would clearly be a step back in functionality. Airplay and spotify connect are no viable alternatives, compared to onboard HiRes capabilities from the Linn, or other alternatives like Naim. And btw, the most recent firmware update for this machine is almost two years old, so I wouldn’t expect too much of future improvements/enhancements.

      @@pollensteyn Paula, yes, if you are at that level, we agree. The Naim units sound very good and can drive almost any kind of load. www.audioadvice.com/shop-by-brand/naim/naim-uniti-nova

      @@AudioAdvice Thanks for your honest answer. These videos have helped me a lot in deciding what steps to take. I was really curious about the Devialet range because I believe them to be a good alternative for my present amp setup, but the streaming part is a bit of a spoiler for me. Would you say the Naim Nova is as good soundwise as the Devialet? Thanks

      @AudioAdvice  Před 2 lety +1

      @@pollensteyn We are glad they have been helpful. The Expert Pro can drive difficult speakers better, but for most, the Naim will do a very good job. Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com for more details.

    What a nightmare for a simple configuration, I don't understand why they made it so boring.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Před 2 lety +1

      It is different than anything else out there but we don’t know of a unit like it where you can change the function of a rear connector through software. That is why you have to do it this way. Thanks for watching

      @@AudioAdvice I remember seeing something about configuring in and out functions in a receiver's review, and I remember clearly that it could be done in almost every way possible. Of course, 😆, I don't remember the receiver's brand and/or the CZcams channel 🙄. Not helpful at all, I'm aware, but I'm gonna try to find it and then I post here. Thanks for the attention and taking the time to answer my post. Very nice indeed!
