I’m going to be the dissenting opinion here, but I LOVE Pretty Grunge. It’s one of my favorite recent purchases. Lucky for us that there’s a ton of makeup to suite our individual needs 😊
I also really enjoy this Huda palette. I ended up getting this with the sale discount and using a gift card, so the price I paid was pretty low. I think for tan, deeper skin tones, the color story is fantastic. It's definitely not luxury quality, but still a great colorway for some of us!
Thanks for sharing! I love to hear your opinion
Same! I've been loving this palette!
I got a Surratt Souffle shadow. I was intrigued by the jelly formula. The one I got looks very pretty on the lid, but creases on me, too. I’m going to try putting down the VB eye shadow stick first and see if that will help.
I’m so glad you talked about the Pretty Grunge. I almost got it in the Sephora sale. It was the matte to shimmer ration that made me hesitate. After this review I’m so glad I held off. I’m patting myself on the back! I loved Rose Quartz from a few years ago, but I haven’t gotten eyeshadow from Huda since.
I agreed, Sophia. The Surratt souffle eyeshadow disappeared from my eyes in a few hours, and I was also not happy with the price I paid and the result I got.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Also appreciate that you share what you don’t recommend. So happy to hear you’re enjoying the chantecaille cosmos highlighter! I just ordered it in the sale and waiting for it to arrive - hoping it’ll give a subtle glow as most highlighters are too intense for me & don’t seem to flatter my skin. Been loving the Gucci blush in Rosy Beige again, so nice for this time of year - especially when I skip bronzer, it’s kind of a nice blush/bronzer tone and feels a little more natural looking for my paler skin in winter :)
I love your reviews! Thank you for your honesty ♥️
Hi Sophia! Thank you so much! It was tempted by both Huda and Surratt, glad I waited. I wanted to mention that I picked up the Alo pants at the Black Friday sale based on your recommendation - best pair of WFH/travel pants I’ve ever tried. Just love them. Thank you!😊
omg YAY! You like the pants 😊
Same! They did great on my very long flight to Paris and back!!
I also prefer ND to Huda palettes. I wish that the Biba and Gold palettes would come out in a midi size. I like the fact you can take colours out and pack a custom travel quad to go. I am tempted by the les beiges warm palette... I have the intense palette and I love it. I would say though that my current favourite palettes are Chanel's new lumiere graphique palette or Dior's Promenade doree.
Sofia, I know I'm not the only one, but it'll be fun for you to show us your skincare routine for winter ❤
Yes please ❤
I have that video linked in the description box of all my videos
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these projects. ❤❤❤
You are so welcome!
from some time i was really drawn towards chanel les beiges in warm, mainly because I love subtle shimmers, its elegant finishes, but also grea great peachy tones. this is definitely my everyday pallette which I do not consider to be boring or too simple. my another pick for pretty basic but somehow unique quad is tom ford golden mink which
I easily can take from day to night
I'm still thinking about the Huda pallette. I have Naughty, which is warmer, and the mattes are really good. They blend and are long lasting. I generally pull in a shimmer from ND or Pat McGrath. Their shimmers are finer and brighter.
For cream eyeshadow, I'm happy with the CT Eyes to Mesmorize. I got a sale kit of 3 colors. They last.
Thanks Sofia I had that Huda palette on my radar ..always appreciate your honest reviews! 💕💕💕Xx♥️🌟🎄
You're welcome :)
It was you I have to thank for steering me toward the La Roche Posay products. I got both and love both!!
Your skin looks amaaaaazing in this video! Beautiful
Aw why thank you!
agree about pretty grunge - i had similar conclusions when swatching in store so you help relieved any lingering fomo. funny enough Xenon ended up being my favorite! appreciate the extra skincare product recs too. always trust your taste! x
Xenon is so good!
Thanks for your review of the two fails. I’ve been so tempted especially for the Huda. I have to keep talking myself out of the Huda especially during the Sephora sale. I think for 2024, in comes a palette, out goes one for declutter. Pulled out Chantecaille do today I haven’t worn in over a year. I have enough!!
Glad it was helpful!
I picked up the Surratt soufflé shadows, and, for the most part, I really like them! The gold one doesn’t really show up on me, and the pink one can make me look ill without a liner, but the mauve, green, grey, and silvery ones are beautiful. I apply a thin layer with a brush to get the shape, and blur the edges, and then, after it dries, which takes no time, I apply more with my finger to get a more opaque look on the lid. No problems with pilling or fading that I’ve noticed
Thanks for telling us this Nidia!
Thank you beautiful! Going to get some of the skin care for my daughter’s.❤
Wonderful!
Based on your previous review, I purchased the Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau De Parfum Intense and I love it so thank you for your recommendation!
Yay!!
I'm really glad to hear your honest review on the Huda palette. I kept going back and forth on it, but ultimately this helped me decide against it. My wallet thanks you!
Glad it was helpful!
I’m so glad I didn’t pull the trigger on those very expensive Surrat new gel shadows!!😮🤦🏻♀️ thanks!
Good to hear your thoughts in the Surtatt Souffle Solo Shadows. This is one that I had on my "maybe" list, however, definitely won't be buying since it creases & pills with wear. I need my makeup to stay put for about 12 hours during the day! 😊
Yes same! :)
Thank you for your openness about eczema and hives
I battle the same and it’s no fun
I appreciate your recs
❤️
Yeah the colder and drier weather makes my eczema act up as well. Thank God for my steroid cream and ointment that I use in those areas when it acts up. I have to refill my prescription of it or make sure I get some from the drugstore every winter. It keeps the flakiness and itching at bay. Something occlusive like Vaseline or regular old chapstick in the blue tube work great on the go also. It’s a battle in the winter.
@@pappyone6062 may I ask what steroid cream your doc puts you on ?
Sofia your earrings very beautiful, thank you for your video 👍👍👍
Thank you! I just got them :)
Super cute nails! 😊
Thank you! 😊
I totally agree with you on the surratt eyeshadows. I bought two and I am not very thrilled with them. Unfortunately I bought into the hype and bought them when I should have waited. I may return them.
I also get eczema on my lids! A derm wisely told me about putting a tiny touch of Vaseline (maybe even before you but any potentially irritating actives on,) on my lids is so helpful. Just a nice inert seal and shield.
I think I’m going to try the Wayne goss eye set. I have every other Sonia g, and I think I have most of those shapes covered.
Great suggestion!
I have eczema too, Sofia! And mine gets in my ears. I get so mad!! It’s currently under control (knock on wood) but it’s awful when I get it so I might try that cream. I’m thinking about ordering a bottle of the YSL perfume. It sounds lovely!! ❤ I need to use my Chantecaille stuff more. I have too much and I don’t use things properly. I’m thinking about doing a go-to makeup bag and really trying to pare down the rest. For some reason, nothing in Huda Beauty’s line attracts me. So I pass on everything!! 😂 This was a great video!! ❤
Hi Sofia! i watched your old videos over and over again, and i got Victoria Beckham eyeshadow stick and eye liner, BK Beauty Brushes, Jones Road Beauty products during Black Friday Sales. Despite the longevity issue, your eyeshadow look so good and very chic! Seems like you have quite a few palettes of this color tone (greyish/silver). Which one you like most? This color is so good for work and party as well. Hope you can do a comparison / swatches video of those palettes. Thank you!
I like the Natasha Xenon palette and I think the Dior Holiday one the best
Would love to see the rms luster on the lid!
It’s in my gift guide video!
LRP Toleriane eye cream, Dermallegro cream, Dermocleanser and Cicaplast are holy grail status skin savers. These plus a vitamin C serum and prescription retinoid (Arazlo) are all I use.
Thank you for those recs!
I think you might be correct about the quality of the Huda Palette , but I think she nailed the brief as a grunge palette .
Just think 2 different worlds of what you consider day wear and what the grunge lovers wear on their eyes during the day .
There is nothing wrong with either taste and style its just different . I think thats a good thing we are not going to like every palettes colour story as much as we want to sometimes , it takes all kinds 🌍🌎🌏
Hi Sofia! If I have the Tisse Vendome quad from Chanel, would the warm memories be too redundant? I passed on the warm les beiges thinking it was too similar, but neutrals are my thing and I am not sure if I should try to get one. Thanks for all your great content!
Hey Jenifer! I would instead try the Chanel Les Beiges in the shade Tender. I am going to be showing that one in a haul this week so you can see swatches!
I have tried Pretty Grunge for a month. I loved it at the beginning because I love cool-tone colors. However, there is a lot of fallout from the black matte after 30 minutes of wearing. When I wear eyeshadow and go to work, I don't want to embarrass myself with a lot of fallout on my face. It makes me look unprofessional. I'm sad. This is my first Huda Beauty product. Thank you, Sofia, for your review!😘 I'm not quite experienced with matte formulas. What brand do you recommend to try for matte formulas?
I like the new Huda palette. Haven't bought from her in years as I didn't like the 9 pan palettes. Not a perfect color story for me but still enjoy it.
I'm currently using the entire lamer line since the last three years but because of their ties with lauder companies I'm quitting lamer due to their stance on the war. I will use up what I got and switch to Augustinus bader
I just used the surratt in my foundation video for today, and I thought it was very drying on my eye - I didn’t notice an issue with wear on the greenish one, but at the end of the day I felt it on my eye
The rms eye lights blow these away imo
Thank you for sharing with us!
I have very dry eyelids as well
What eyeshadows would you recommend for that specifically? I like lighter shades too ❤️
Definitely the Cle de Peau ones!
@@SofiaSeesBeauty do you happen to have a discount code lol ?
💜💜💖
I love your sweater! Can you link it if it is still available? Thank you!
It's from Everlane! search for their alpaca sweaters

I have the same longevity issue with Westman Atelier Eye Pods as you mentioned about Surratt Souffle Eyeshadows. Not sure if you reviewed them on your channel. So many people love them, and indeed they look beautiful when you apply them, but the longevity is just tragic. I have both Les Nuits and Les Jours, they perform the same way. They crease within 1-2 hours, and by the end of day it looks very unflattering. And I also remember having a similar issue with Chantecaille Mermaid Eyeshadows and Kjaer Weis cream eyeshadows. Seems like it's a common issue in many cream eyeshadows.
I have been so hesitant to try those!
I tried the Surratt Souffle as well in the gold color. And found that is completely disappeared in a few hours. So bad! I checked their website to return it and they don't accept returns on used items! What is that?? So I just ended up throwing it away!
If you email them you can return them! I reached out and they were very accommodating. It never hurts to ask
Hi! Suqqu creases on me so badly. I’ve purchased the Surratt one, need to try it yet. I hope it will last longer than Suqqu
Let me know!
I truly appreciate your honesty re the Surratt Souffles. I regrettably purchased 2 & they don't last, don't layer well & crease. I've tried several methods of application but they're just not a good formula. I blindly trusted that they would be great & every other you tuber was raving about them, but they're a huge disappointment. especially given the price!
Thanks for sharing!!
Where do the Lisa Eldridge liquid shadows fall in your opinion (compared to the other brands). I think the new viseart palettes do a better job with this color story than the Huda palette.
I like the Lisa Eldridge and the RMS ones the best. They are nicely pigmented with great longevity and shade range
I recently bought the Huda Rose Quartz palette and although it’s very pretty to look at, I agree with you… The quality is just not there. I won’t be buying another Huda pallette. I also recently got the Natasha Denona Retro palette, and I can’t say enough good things about it… it’s next level quality.
Yes I am so happy with Natasha's palettes ^_^
I got the same vibe about pretty grunge as you, Sofia, it was a pass for me :( don’t understand the overall excitement
Thanks for your feedback!
I really liked the palette but it is dark and grunge and even a bit glam. I actually haven’t had any problems with it.
Awesome😘💋💋💋👄👄👄😘😘😘😘😘😘
Thanks 🤗
Hi Sophia...I believe suratt designs products to mostly layer. Try layering with a powder shadow.
I appreciate the suggestion but I feel like what is the point? If it's a single shadow I think it should work on it's own or be called a primer base
Omg thank you. I also returned my grunge palette! Everyone raving about it but it was so lack luster to me..
Thanks for sharing!
Okay, is that the Bronze Glow on your lips again? lol
Nope! It's a Guerlain lipstick but unfortunately I can't find the shade available anywhere
I have no idea what's up with Huda eyeshadow quality. Her eyeshadow is one of my fave but the quality is not consistent. I love Rose Quartz, Mercury Retrograde, Naughty Nude and New Nude. However Empowered and Pretty Grunge have been a great disappointment in terms of formula. Very chalky mattes, weird, chunky shimmers or shimmers that arent that shimmery...
Yes I love Rose Quartz and Mercury palette also!
Is it possible that you got a dud? I would contact customer service.
Ever since I heard about Huda roasting one of her fans, I haven’t been able to get myself to buy her products. Glad to hear your feedback on the Grunge palette - it was tempting but now it doesn’t seem worth it for me.
Oh yes I did forget about that incident
Sofia, beautiful girl…I promise you…if you eat primarily fruit your skin will clear 100%.🙂❤🙏🏼⭐
Haha thanks for the tip!
I am 59 and beat stomach cancer by eating all fruit… in the interim all my skin issues cleared as did everything else! It’s amazing and will be four solid years this very month. You don’t have to be as extreme as I am, but it is the proper diet for humans…. ❤❤❤🙏🏼@@SofiaSeesBeauty
That's why I didn't buy the Huda. I think it's a disappointment... It could have been a fantastic and diverse palette but instead they ruined the versatility of the mattes by making the shimmers very one note
Yes totally. I love the tones but the formulas didn't hit
Huda beauty products are overpriced, overrated and just drug store quality with high end prices
Thank you for sharing your opinion with us!
