US passports are processed through US Postal Services. The man knows what he's talking about. My only concern here is the reliability of the Nigerian Postal Service.
Children are assigned social security numbers in the US at birth, but parents have to apply for it. Babies footprint are taken at birth, which goes on birth registration document that parent will have to submit to get a birth certificate. That takes care of the biometrical aspect of the process. Copy of the birth certificate will need to be provided when the parent applies for the social security number.

I will be so glad if this two weeks backlog promise can be achieved. I'm on the verge of forfeiting a foreign trip in October courtesy of the Nigerian immigration service. This is the seventh month that I have been waiting to collect my international passport from the Ikeja passport office. I applied in February, captured in March and my collection date was 30th day of May, 2023, Nigerians, up until this day 7th September, 2023 my passport is yet to be collected due to PRINT ERROR ISSUE. MR. HONOURABLE MINISTER, please match your words with action.
I'm not a fan of this rogue Tinubu government, but this is the 2nd time I've heard from this guy, and I'm actually impressed with his passion and ideas. Hopefully, he will achieve these objectives for everyday Nigerians without a lot of obstruction from the powers that be. I wish him well.

Please help sort out the UK as well. It takes 4 months to get just an ordinary appointment. They deliberately block out all their calendars so that you would have to go through the back doors (bribe).

Oh my GOD! I've been thinking about renewing my Nigerian passport, and I live in the UK. But when I remember the torture in the process, I just give up! And go for visa,which am not supposed to do, and it cost me more. But why all this torture to get or renewed or to get a New Nigerian passport?? It takes a couple of, if it's too much time to wait for renewal of British passports, it takes not more than a week! So why does the Nigerian one so depressing and frustrating?? PLEASE,and PLEASE, all this has to stop! And enough! Imagine in the UK,the Nigerian Embassy is a mess,there're all there busy doing nothing! And most people leave furturated,even at a time,a man created a Sean and destroyed some cars outside the Embassy out of anger. And who knows what is going to happen next?

The new minister of the interior seems to be on top of the issues discussed and seems to be strongly motivated to fix longstanding problems. If he is able to execute his plans, over time there will be a definite change for the better in those departments under his purview.

Talk is cheap, the immediate past farmer guy Aregbesola that held that same position since the last 8 years made much more promises of better performance than this yet, not much was achieved so, how does this plenty talk make any difference? Only time will tell!
Any citizen in Nigeria on a visit with foreign passport should be able to get express Nigeria passport at additional cost without delay especially when they have proof of their return tickets back to overseas. Getting a Nigerian passport or visas overseas to visit home is another crazy thing most people faces at Nigeria Embassy.

Publish monthly achievement so that we can see the progress on the website. How many are at different stage. Number of passport cleared from application to received in 2 weeks. We need transparent government.
Pls kindly tell the minister to help us to make the Nigeria passport to go back to 10 years and if it can be done as we use to do our extention year's back by virtue of putting stamp when we go for an extension. This five years of extention it's very short and we must go for another new booklet . Most of the countries are using 10 years passport. Thanks !!

I did my biometric February 10, 2022 & up till now I have not been able to get my passport. They said my passport is on DU, & there was a time I was assigned a booklet but the booklet was snatched, perhaps given to another. So as it stands now, I am still waiting for my international for over one year now... This is amazingly terrible.
I waited almost 3months to get my renewed passport in Atlanta Georgia😊

Well post office would be great to one to recieve their passport and also do door steps delivery, instead of going there to pick it up.
Backlog can be cleared ,guess they would need to run shift to clear it.

FYI: passport is not a right, it is a privilege. One that can be revoked in certain instances. Just like a drivers license is not a right.

let all this government agency (NIN, NIMC, IMMIGRATION, DIRVER LICENCE, INEC etc) integrate all this information so we can have a scalable database that all approved government agency can have access to, and we have a unified form of identity to all Nigerians.
It took me eight months before I was able to get my passport in italy. Sir if you are really serious about this it is possible. Nigerians in diaspora are passing through he'll before getting their passport
