- During the period from January 01 to September 30, 2023, the Philippines witnessed a remarkable resurgence in tourism, nearly mirroring the record-breaking tourist influx of 2019, the country's highest-ever recorded year for tourism.
This remarkable influx marked a historic moment for the country, with 4,038,379 international travelers gracing its shores. Among these global visitors were 339,333 Balikbayan travelers, adding a unique cultural flavor to the vibrant tapestry of Philippine tourism.
What truly amplifies this achievement is the financial windfall it brought. The tourism industry reaped a staggering 300 billion pesos during this period, showcasing a remarkable 43.5 percent surge from the previous year. This economic upswing not only highlights the increasing allure of the Philippines as a tourist hotspot but also underlines the vital role tourism plays in the nation's economic progress.
With an upward trajectory that defies expectations, the Philippines is poised to welcome approximately 8.5 million international visitors in the upcoming year, with projections soaring to a staggering 10 million by 2025.
Forecasts paint a promising picture, with experts estimating revenues ranging from 800 billion pesos (or 14.5 billion US dollars) by the end of 2024 to a monumental 1 trillion pesos (or 17.9 billion US dollars) by the end of 2025, coinciding with the Philippines' anticipated 10 million international visitors. Such substantial revenues are set to bolster diverse sectors of the economy, creating a plethora of employment opportunities, boosting infrastructure development through the archipelago, and fueling the engine of the nation's economic growth and development.
By 2024, the Philippines' Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to soar beyond 490 billion US dollars, a testament to the robustness of its economy. By the end of 2025, this figure is set to climb further, reaching an impressive 520 billion US dollars. Notably, the tourism industry is poised to contribute significantly, accounting for a notable 3.44% of the total GDP. This remarkable progress not only signifies the country's ascent as a premier travel destination but also underscores the critical importance of sustainable tourism practices.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, travel enthusiasts, and curious minds prepare to be the first to witness an exclusive revelation that will quench your wanderlust thirst! The best island chain for island hopping adventures, metro Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo cities, constructions of the bridges to these island is the link to progressive tourism development
I have been to over 100 cities in Philippines. Soon, id make my own top 10. This is a great reference. Id make that video before I leave to express gratitude to the nice people who made a bitter sweet experience in the Philippines worth celebrating online.
Wow Really Thanks For Sharing Your Beautiful Videos God bless you ✌️👍👍👍👍🖐️🙌✌️💕 From Cali ❤
Cebu has it all! ❤️
Wow!! Iloilo is now getting the recognition it deserves! 😍❤️
Yes👍, it wasn't in the top 10 last year tapos bilang 9th place hindi pa tapos and year 2023.
they combine 5 cities in NCR for a total of 1.5M
Iloilo, Aklan, Antique , Capiz and Negros Occidental has all their own respective airport and ports. If tourist will land in Kalibo airport after their boracay visits some tourist many of them will visit by land Iloilo, Capiz , Antique ,Guimaras all in Panay Island and please take note their is no tourist registrations when you are teavelling by land hence this data is understated for these mentioned provinces.
It is because of the foreign vloggers that are helping our department of tourism in advertisement. Whenever there are new vloggers, let us comment and subscribe to their channel.
It is truly an exciting island hopping adventure. Each island or province visited is like visiting a different country as every island offers its own unique local delicious dish. The best part is Filipinos are hospitable, friendly, understand and speak English. Also, the Philippines is the ONLY CHRISTIAN country in Asia & Filipinis are proud of this.❤
Wow, grabe yung Davao subrang laki ng progress kasi. Then yung Iloilo biglang lumobo.
Subrnag booming kasi ang Davao at Iloilo.
Cebu Magpadayon Kita! ☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️
Awesome! video! I love the Philippines. ;)
OMG what a beautiful place, what a wonderful world amazing Philippines Manila, Cebu en Davao. 😊😮😅
WE NEED TO IMPROVE OUR ILOILO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. PRESIDENT MARCOS PLEASE ANSWER OUR PEOPLE'S REQUEST. GOD BLESS. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Kapag natapos na ang Bulacan Airport dadami na ang direct flights nyan mula America, Europe at iba pang Continents
I wonder how you segmentaize it if there are 4,038,000 total visitors mostly arriving in NAIA then they stay a couple of days in ncr and fly to provinces.
Please visit ALBAY specially her majestic perfect-coned Mayon Volcano, one wonder of the world!🙏🏻
Went there last March I am from Cebu and yes maganda balik ako jan sa Feb. Soon
Wow BGC Intramuros Tops it All 🇵🇭💙💙💙
pumasok na ang iloilo sa top 10.

I have some questions. (1) What was your methodology for counting . (2) How did you avoid double or tipple counting where tourists may have multiple destinations.
There is a system on how they count tourist, one of them is through immigration. Many areas have tourist registration but that will not be accurate because even the locals have to register so this system is not used to count the influx of foreign tourists. Resorts and hotels will have a list of foreign tourists
A lot of the "international travellers" are people from other countries with Filipino relatives just going to visit family here. The designation "balikbayan" only applies to Filipino citizens like OFWs, but if their half Filipino children were yet unable to acquire their dual citizenship, they will be listed as "foreign travelers". even for those of us who have dual citizenship, we are often encouraged to use our foreign passport instead of our Filipino passport/ID, even for local travel. those "international traveler" numbers are true especially for places that don't have obvious touristy areas such as QC, Parañaque, Naga, Sta Rosa etc.. I know because even though I've been dual since birth, many airports wanted us to use our UK passports instead of the PH one at NAIA, Mactan etc. because they need to meet a quota. You'll still find the numbers for "real foreigners" here are still very small. Much room for improvement. I hope our country can attract more international tourists, but it will take much more investment from govt to make our country tourist friendly.
For balikbayans without a doubt its metro manila dahil its more populated but for tourists I doubt it, metro manila is only a gate way and a business hub.
Ano ba meron sa Naga ba't palagi silang pasok sa top 10?
add Corregidor n Bataan's Mt. Samat n Las Casas de Azucar in Balanga city, Bataan
Sana makapasyal ren ako 🙏🙏🙏
Really glad to hear my favorite places aren't in the top 10 at least. Might keep the inflation under control better w/o tourists driving up prices ! Lower budget expats will benefit from the cheaper cost of living as will the locals in less touristy areas.
Clark is the old US Air Force Base. It is not part of San Fernando City. It is in Angeles City and close to New Clark City.
Why siargao island is not on the list?
Region XIII (CARAGA) = 41,364
38.078 - foreign tourists
3,286 - balikbayans
Top Province
Surigao del Norte (Siargao) - 31,655
Balikbayans = 416 balikbayans
Top City
Surigao City - 3,884 foreign tourists + 1,112 balikbayans = 4,996
11th place ang Siargao. Let's hope that by the end of the year makapasok sa top 10.
SIARGAO?
It's not fair to compare a metro to just a city or worst a smaller cities and towns.
I agree
I recommend Batanes,if you are nature lover, wow beautiful
As I saw how developments are ongoing inside Clark, Pampanga. I would say that BGC will have a hard time rivaling the Kapampangans due to its proximity to La Union, Bataan, Pangasinan & Zambales as major beach destinations in Central Luzon. As a future smart city, Pampanga will be the next melting pot among locals and foreigners, because of the robust economic development.
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
You Here Too 😂😅😂🖐️✌️🙌
@@piacash5216 YES!!! Hello!!!! I love being EVERYWHERE!!!!

Cagayan de Oro ranked 12th, after Siargao with 31,655 visitors. Sayang. Maybe by the end of the year makapasok na. Hoping....
@@rotneder2814 Wow! Great info here! Much appreciated! My guess for all the Philippines is 5.6 Million foreign arrivals! And for next year to beat the record over 8.3 million foreign arrivals!
@@rotneder281412th after Siargao but Siargao is not a City, it is an Island composed of 8 Municipalities of the Province of Surigao del Norte.
Metro Manila is still the king.
Cebu is the queen.

@@videohighlights1337that's simply isn't true. Hahahahahaha, try looking at the statistics. Most domestic helpers are from the Visayas Region.

METRO CEBU
.. where did you get this data?meaning there were no tourists visited Baguio City?
Mostly local tourist
Number 1 City is Cebu
Number 2 is Pasay
They had to combine all cities in Metro Manila just to defeat Cebu, wow…
2:51 Metro Manila 1, 525, 192 visitors
4:46 Metro Cebu 814, 102 visitors
What defeat are you talking about?
Watch it again and do the Math!!!

477k yung sa pasay city & there is a big possibility na mas malaki pa jan ang cebu city knowing that metro cebu has 812k.. kung city vs city ang pag uusapan
Sorry to burst your bubble but it's METRO CEBU, not just Cebu City. It's a conglomeration of 3 cities namely Cebu, Mandaue and Mactan.
Ph has 4M+ tourists in 2023, is that remarkable?😂
Look at Vietnam 🇻🇳, this country we Filipinos had belittled has 8M tourists in 2023.
