The Legend of Dragoon happens to be the very first JRPG that I ever played (I had never played any Final Fantasy games until playing VII in my teens). As I must have been at least 8 when I played it, I had never been able to finish the first disc as I was always stuck at one of the later areas. I found the game lying around years later and finally managed to complete it only a couple of years ago. As shoddy as The Legend of Dragoon's English translation can be at times, it is a cult classic that I still think about from time to time. Maybe one day I'll get all the stardusts and take on the superbosses.

Never played Legend of Dragoon, but my gf was starting her first run and left the menu up while she was working around the apartment... I sat and grooved to the menu music for like 30 minutes straight and it never got old

this is really sweet! I need this to be the menu theme to my life. Good contrast between more active and more atmospheric parts. and i did not expect that woodwind in the end -- i wasn't watching the video at that moment and I literally did a doubletake: "when did mairiba get a sax?!?" What is that???
I've had a xaphoon for a good while now but I think I need to bring it out more in the future. But yeah, I thought a little change in sections would be nice despite the original being a 40 second loop. Thanks for the feedback man :)
I played this game as a teenager in the late 90's when it first came out for playstation. Was in love with the menu music since then...........Amazing......absolutely amazing. I hope your making alot of money as a musician or a teacher sir, you definitely deserve it .........

The LOD OST is just amazing overall. I use it as thematic background music for my dnd campaign, and there's a song for every occasion.
Wow such nostalgia.. I was 6 back then watching my brother play it. Years later, I only remember this tune and Dart red armor.

This is one of my favorite entries in the jazz challenge--not only is the mix and instrumentation great, but the arrangement really feels like it builds strongly while still keeping the feeling of the original. And AWESOME inclusion of xaphoon in the thing at the end!

We've got a similar story friend. This was one of the first RPGs I remember playing and I was in fith grade when I turned my brother's playstation on. Pretty sure this is when I developed my procrastination and fixation on video games but it has brought many memories to me over the years haha

This is so lovely! The smooth jazzy funky style is really beautiful to listen to and mix between slower and faster sections creates a really enjoyable variety to listen to! I especially loved that woodwind at end!

Yeah the original menu music, if you listen to it long enough, is enough to make the mind go numb with the repetition. You add so much variation on the theme and the solos are incredible. I wish there were some way to put this whole track into the game so that it would play when the menu is up - instead of the games original music. This is so awesome

Cheers dude! I'm not massively versed in fusion myself, I'll admit. But I'd recommend the album 'Still Life (Talking)' by the Pat Metheny Group as I think it's quite accessible (I think it did win a grammy).
If you're a JoJo fan, it's got the track 'Last Train Home' which was used for the ending theme for the latter half of Part 3. I think that's where most people like myself would've been introduced to his music.
But, yeah, hope that helps :)
