The new developments in London are so ugly and soulless, I'm glad I grew up in the London of the fifties, sixties and seventies. Scruffy maybe, but full of life and character.
I have to slightly disagree. Although some of the newer developments lack soul some of the worst came post war when budgets were low and necessity ruled over esthetics. Some of the rehabs are good. As per usual the poorer neighborhoods get the least attention.
