I did away with trying to keep that top ring blown up,just to have another leak. I took a rubber stop #3 drilled a hole through that. Installed a vaccum line with a line running to a small 30 gallon fish tank pump .runs constantly and I haven't worried about keeping the top ring from deflating. Even if there is a small hole the pump will stay on top of it. No more patching for me . The best $30 upgrade i have spent on this intex easy set pool.
