I came across her music from seeing her mentioned in music magazines. I was originally pulled in by her beauty. But then I heard "Daniel" and a few other songs and fell in love with her music as well.

The pretentious world of Los Angeles and southern California
I like how people rip on LA for being pretentious and shallow, yet the city is FULL of midwestern transplants. Seriously, I was born and raised here and I know like 3 people who are actually natives and they're not at all the LA stereotype. So if you want to know the source of these horrible people, look to the middle of the country where they all come from.
David Wheeler ... very insightful observation & Ive heard this from other Cal-natives as far back as 40 years ago. A "Buckeye" myself but living on East coast, I love California and its Western heritage, and hope it endures.

If you think moving into your 30s & writing new material with all the support you have is hard, just try & imagine how scary & self-destructing it is to do it without even 10 supporters. But I am glad she mentions that aspect to music. It's so hard living without any money, without love, kids, a home, a career, property, etc. And just being held captive by the music that originally set you free. LOL.. So triggered!! Ha Ha!
