- I had some requests for Leslie Gore which I like cause I grew up with her songs. I don't have any of her songs on CD except this one which was on a oldies compilation a friend lent me.

How can you add to perfection? Lesley Gore was the very best, and Kenn seems to have the talent of a Quincy Jones. We need them together in this new digital age. :D

I love it, it's like totally cool to hear it this way, it doesn't detract from Lesley's young performance (at this point, I believe she was only 16 depending on what month this was recorded...she turned 17 in May 1963)

Lesley went into the studio March 30, 1963 to record four songs: Hello Young Lover (You Ain't Gonna Get To My Heart); It's My Party; Something Wonderful; Danny. Mercury told Lesley they were going to shelve these songs until an appropriate time to release them, not to get her hopes up because they may never get released. Quincy Jones found out that evening that Phil Spector was in the studio with the Crystals working on a recording of It's My Party. Later, Quincy went back to the studio, had 100 copies of Lesley's song pressed, packaged and ready to mail out to key radio stations that Monday morning. The official release was one week later.

Check out the Bear Family 5-cd box set titled "It's My Party". It contains all available recordings Lesley did for Mercury Records, including her French, German and Italian recordings. Kind of pricey but well worth it.
Very nice job bringing the band to the front without losing Lesley. The next time Apple releases a Beatles remix, they should have you produce it.

Yeah I'd like to do more Lesley Gore when I get a CD of hers. A friend lent me an oldies CD compilation and it had "it's My Party" on it so I grabbed it.

Where do you get all the pictures for your collages?
I have a library of photos of all my favorite artists that I collect over years.
My sister had the most incredible collection of David Cassidy photos plastered all over her room in the 1970's and when she got married she gave them to me.
I kept for about a 2 decades and then pitched them and then came the internet in the 1990's and I could kick myself! Then I realized that I could have scanned them in my computer with my Epson Perfection scanner and used them for my Partridge Family CZcams videos. I know one thing she had photos I have never seen since and I had a large shopping bag full of them! Kenn
