  • If you’re thinking about using that old worn out mower blade to make a knife…think no more. This thing hardened up GREAT! and it was easy prep work.
I hope y’all enjoyed. See ya next time!

Good build. I look forward to your growth. Maybe a 1095 steel drop point Bowie 7 to 9 inch blade. I believe you are up for it. ⚔

“2x4 material” is generally fir. Usually Douglas fir if it comes from the northwest. That’s a soft wood and is probably pretty easy to burn on a belt. I’m all for wood and natural materials, (leather sheath, wood handles, etc) but some G-10 liners would be much more stable and you can do any color you want. Get your respirator on to work with it; it’s essentially fiberglass. Or find a light hardwood to offset the dark handle wood.

Nice work dude that one turned out pretty cool. How’s your belt grinder holding up still happy with the purchase!? It looks like it’s doing pretty good

You have a forge. Try using it to forge to shape. Billions of stock removal vids and they are all the same. When knife making became popular everyone was forging to shape as best they could. Then this stock removal phenomenon took over. It is boring as it is all exactly the same. Shape the steel with heat and hammer, you will respect yourself in the morning.
    Forge On!!!
