Predicting crop yield at an early growth stage is a challenging task and is particularly difficult under stress. Photosynthesis and/or transpiration are commonly considered to be good yield predictors.
Yet, these parameters are challenging to measure in a comparative way due to their dynamic nature and their interaction with the dynamic ambient conditions.
Prof. Menachem Moshelion describes at NaPPN 2021 conference the method of PlantArray which supplies physiological quantitative traits (QPTs), creating a physiological-response profile, under water-sufficiency and drought conditions compared to yield parameters of a parallel field-conducted experiment.
