As a heads up to anyone having this problem, because it's exhibited in this video too, the wavy text that you get can be fixed by changing the size of the text to a whole number, either 1x or 2x. If you set it to 1.25x or 1.5x or something then it'll be uneven and wavy.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out the text that appears at the top right of the screen when he splashes his enemy at 2:30 in the video.

I loved the cinematics especially those in the cockpit to the right of the pilot where a cam would record from.
Among everything, i have to compliment your approach and landing the most though.
So very few take the time to align and perform such approaches, and don't get me started on your flare and aft wheel touchdowns!!

CAN YOU PLEASE do one like this with the F-14. I love how you show off the game from not JUST the cockpit like to many others, but you use all the different cameras available. Im subbing lol

Probably hasn’t centered his head tracker perfectly or it’s harder to see through the extra glass but idk I don’t have the f-16
It's probably set that way to mimick a gopro stuck to the canopy, kinda like how they film this stuff IRL

There's a way to mute radio/cockpit noise when in external view. Go to settings>audio and find the box that mentions external cockpit noise. Awesome vid btw!
Also, RAlt+' will hide the damage messages on the right side of the screen!

Good video, DCS is so pretty. You just need to brush up on dogfighting maneuvers.
Caucasus kind of falls apart once you start taking a closer look at the cities and villages, though.
I would've hoped for a more extensive remake of the ancient thing that has been around since forever.
I'm really glad we have DCS.
Still, the terrain detail (they recently updated the tree engine) is quite outdated in my opinion. For example, shorelines and buildings in some maps look like from 2006.
On the other hand, DCS is already very performance- hungry, so one can only imagine what higher terrain detail would do to the sim.
We'd probably need a whole new engine for that.
But yeah, I guess they're doing their best.

Higher detailed cities and terrain would absolutely destroy performance.

Don't we need a bit more AOA before the touchdown? We don't point our planes at the runway, we allow them to sink lower based on power. It was glaring at the end.

Only thing is I wouldn't be pulling up vertical that hard at that low speed (Especially against a Flanker no less!) and I'd be flinging off-bore Sidewinders everywhere, but HO BOY were those graphics pretty to look at!
assuming this view is not your player view, what recording software do you use to put an angle like that while still playing?
The graphics are crazy
F16 is a good rate turn fighter and will perform better in a one-circle rate fight to get on the opponent's six if going for guns, than the vertical merge at low speed. A rate turn at around 360 knots will outturn most any opponent.
two circle for a rate fight, F16 is terrible at one circle/rolling scissor.

Are you playing this in VR? I have essentially same hardware but my 2080 is not a ti, it’s an evga rtx 2080 xc hybrid, the water cooled one, cpu is smart overclocked to 38% when I see the asus rog logo on startup, but wondering if I need to overclock it more to get those frame rates. Would love to see what you have the overclock set to and what your game settings are
I wonder how many Over-G can be reached for all Aircraft. Hopefully some can do like Mihaly's.

Use your ejectionseat and wait till your pilot is on the ground. After that you can walk around with him. Bit slow, but it is ok. Take your time. ;-)
Why weren't missiles deployed? there seemed to be several times when the F-16 had ideal aim-9, if not aim-120 shots.

f18 100% the f18 is more complete and has more weapons. the f16 is fun to fly and all but lacks weapons like gps guided bombs, mavericks, gbu10 etc and the worst part is the chaff/flare dispensare isn’t yet finished. you can only dispense 20 at a time. so you pretty much only got enough chaff and flare to evade 2 missiles.
Off we go into the wild blue yonder climbing high into the sun. Here they come, soon to me meet our thunder. At em boyz give em the guns...

When i get a new gpu hopefully i can do this lol. Atm i play on medium. Max graphics would probs drop my 40fps to below 20 which doesnt feel right at all with track ir. I have an rx570 8gb btw.
You stalled the plane after the first merge (0:55), would have been sort of okay if it was a Fox-2 fight but if that wasn't an easy AI you probably would have ended up dead. Should go into the merge faster and going vertical at under 300 knots + pulling a lot of G's is not a great idea.
yeah ... I pushed it to the limit ...
but I always had an eye on the bad guy and he was aiming at my wingman. This is an instant action mission, i don't know whats the ai's skill

If it is recording with VR , the options to record are left eye render or right eye so propably this is a recording only through what the right eye sees
@@Dcsvr Which VR Set are you using If Occulus use Occulus Mirror that way you can get round it by setting the parameters when launching it. Pretty sure other headsets should have the same facility. then just record the mirror output window.
It's not what he is actually looking at while flying. He is using a different camera angle to emulate the look of a mounted go pro for "realism". I did find myself hitting my center key as well lmao
Graphics are pretty good but the thing is you must have a 5-6k PC in order to run this game at 4k 60fps....

yes post processed just brightness, contrast and saturation. No mod here. If you want you can do this real time with Reshade

i understand you... she drinks a lot... :) but you know, in dogfight, less weight means more maneuverability and a better chance to survive, as long as you can keep her from drinking too much..
You should consider picking more interesting targets like Mirage 2000-5, JF-17 or MiG-19P...

@@macckt1423 While for some weird reason the AI Su-33 is actually a noticeably trickier foe than the AI Su-27 (even though with a human pilot it's the other way around), it's still no match for the ones I mentioned above.
I suggest you try going against most of the bots (on Excellent) in guns only and enough fuel for 3.5 mins of burner operation and see for yourself.

Use the "Record AVI" feature of the Mission Editor. It loads a track and outputs a video in maximum quality regardless of your hardware.

Once DCS adds raytracing, the graphics will be pretty much photorealistic. As of now, unrealistic shadows and lighting give it away more than anything else.

You'll need a lot more graphics power for raytracing in DCS. I run a RTX titan with a 32 core thread ripper CPU with 64GB ram and frames hardly reach 60 frames with games like minecraft. It looks nice but graphic power is not yet there for Ray tracing.
