I personally think now Arsenal are better off signing wide players then breaking the bank on a striker. In this video I break down and look at Arsenal's summer transfer targets.

I support signing of Rodrigo as a quality addition
But I doubt Arsenal will sign him simply Bcz it makes no business sense.
Why would any club sign a player in the region of £100m+ just to come and be a back up to saka 🤷♂️ … it doesn’t makes sense at all. And I doubt Arsenal will do that kinda business
But it will be awesome to sign Rodrigo who I believe can nail That Martineli position and make it his own and can also play saka role as a leg up competition for saka and can also play as a striker

Making a lot of sense. Don't see many of the players linked with Arsenal being bought. The tone has been set through Rice, Harvetz and Timber. All improved the team. I also agree about the pressure to buy a centre forward as being less. I think Mika Biereth can add better value than Nketiah. If the right centre forward is not available, still sell Nketiah and give Biereth a long term contract. Give him decent minutes and he will convert many chances. His experience at Stum Graz chasing the league will be handy. Whilst the belief is that to be world class players must play many games, Arsenal do need a capable scoring replacement. I also agree on a 6/8 depending on the decision on Rice. Perhaps they are waiting on Youssoff Fofana's temperament for these Euros. He has all the physical and technical attributes but can he go to Anfield, Etihad, Spurs, Old Trafford and give a championship performance? Big question mark. If he pushes France in these Euros in the knockout stages then maybe.
We need a 20+ goal scorer and that’s usually a striker.
Martinelli is a kid who had an off season. he will back even faster next season. Saka is also a kid who’s so good he’s constantly getting special treatment from every team and that says so much (ppl who actually play a sport know this) about where you are as a player. Saka will keep on getting better and shutting up shit heads online😂 We need a RAW super quick winger for Arteta to work his magic on👏🏾
Not just an off season, he lost his support system in the left, he lost Xhaka and hasnt click with Rice, Zinchenko had a drop in performance, Jesus who usually is his playing partner in the front also had a performance drop after his knee injury.
That last game where they put Martinelli as a right winger he played fine because he has Odegaard and White behind him

I got lots of flack from fellow Arsenal fan in my country for stating this exact thing, WE DONT NEED A STRIKER, we need a wide player to challenge Saka and rebuild our midfield!
A better and more diplomatic way to put it is that we need a wide player and a Partey's replacement/upgrade before considering to improve on the striker position.

@@granitxhaka7261 we already have Havertz, Trossard, Jesus and Martinelli that can fill in the spot, and we have made the 2nd most goals, only 5 less than City.
I am not saying I would be sad if we bought a striker.
But right now we need to invest more on midfield. We basically only going to have Ødegaard, Rice, and Jorginho as our midfield next season.

Saka and Matinelli didn't perform because we missed Xhaka and Partey largely, Rice was great but he drive the ball too much and the opponent recover and closes space..

Every time Jesus played in the right he was great. And Jesus in CL were the best player of Arsenal. It was a mistake not starting him against Bayern.
The clubs biggest need is actually a replacement for Partey. He has to go as he is never fit. Rice and Jorginho filled in for him well, but Jorginho is getting older and gas no pace any more, his passing is brilliant, but he can't be asked to play twice a week regularly. Rice was also good but he doesn't have the ball progression passing of Partey . As a six, most of his passes were sideways or backward. He is a much better L8 than a 6. We also have a keeper problem that no one sees coming. Raya is a mistake machine who, through his mistakes, was responsible for 30 % of goals scored against him. I also don't think our keeper coach is good enough. Ramsdale started well 2 seasons ago, but as he got more and more coaching from our new ex Brentford Keeper coach his game started to slip. Ramsdale still had a briliant season with over 30 big saves, but now is nowhere near that level.
Raya may have won the golden boot, but that was due more to our brilliant team defense that starts with our high press and ends with our great back 4. In truth, I have never seen an Arsenal keeper with less to do since I started following the club in 1976.
Against Tottenham, Chelsea, and City, he made 9 errors that cost us 4 points. The 2 draws against Spurs and Chelsea that should have been wins cost us the title. He also made 2 errors against Munich in Champions League that lost us the 2 match tie.
