11:31PM I don't know how to start this. Dave died. Today we were supposed to go to an eclipsed planet but we accidentally entered our ship coordinates wrong and routed somewhere else. Another set of employees went to that planet and there was only 1 survivor, I guess we're lucky we made a mistake. After my successful first day yesterday I went in with no worries, we even were given walkie-talkies from the company so we could find scrap easier. John stayed in the ship to use the main terminal which shows scrap around us who were inside. Dave and I were a group, and Larry went in solo. Everything was fine. It was all okay. Then the loudest sound I have ever heard came from behind me. Dave stepped on a mine and exploded. My fight or flight kicked in and I immediately began screaming into the walkie that Dave is dead. John without any change in his voice said "Bring him back to the ship, we'll get fined if we don't". What is going on this place? My contract I signed doesn't let me leave for another 3 days. I want to go home. I'm so sorry Kate.

They way you can keep track of all the people in the team fights while ulting,sleeping,Qing, gathering summoners, etc. is just amazing. It's like you are Zoe clones in 10 places at once, all over the fight!
One of the tricks to Comet Naafiri in lane is that after landing Qs, use E to heal and return your dogs to you before they get killed off by the enemy laner. Your dogs make up a lot of your damage so you really want to keep them alive if you can. And then of course, landing more Qs respawns dogs quicker if they do end up dying. But this way you retain pretty high poke damage throughout the laning phase, although you may run out of mana early on.
Also, I find that Eclipse first (with Sudden Impact) feels really good.

The only thing i really don't like about Naafiri is an extremely slow windup on her Q. I don't even mind the projectile speed itself. The rest of her kit is very simple, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, Pekin, but why not minion Demat for Naafiri?
Clearing those waves looked like pain. And even with Max Q + an item, your double Q still wasn't clearing the backline.
I've been playing Naafiri myself and personally, I've been using minion demat on the ranged minions and it allows my double Q to one shot them.
Also for 'Why does Naafiri feel bad?', I think its the fact that her main source of damage is a skill shot that requires a double hit. That's really clunky compared to the vast majority of assassins. Like, its so important that if you don't hit Q2, you basically lose the kill. Also the fact that she's a comet user is also very bizarre. I'm not really familiar with any other assassin that runs comet. Although personally, I still prefer Electrocute.

What makes Naafiri feel bad? You don't really win lane as her because her kill pressure only happens at level 6 (spamming Qs at your opponent requires insane aim and also you can't even Q in certain matchups because they have too much range) so she kinda takes it up the booty in almost every matchup. Her best matchups are the ones where she can just survive til 6 and also she's an "assassin" from 2023 with no stealth or long-range directional dashes or strong outplay potential. Also Naafiri has too much counterplay (you can bodyblock her W for some reason??) Basically you wouldn't pick Naafiri when you can pick Akali instead.

Start of this video was hard to watch, Naafiri's ult is not one of those that you hold off on using until you can try to kill people. It's to actively let you do trades and ultimately close out kills eventually. Cause the whole point of Naafiri is her dogs, so watching them just not be defended and kept from being killed was painful. Her E recalling the dogs back is also meant to tell you how you're supposed to trade with her.
Q1 -> Q2 -> E away and you keep your doggos alive, or you can do Q1 -> E -> Q2 to get more damage in, sacking the doggos most likely in the process. And then the ult lets you respawn ALL dogs and adds more for a proper all-in. And with the all-in you get shielding now on the first hit (usually with W).
I love Pekin, however this was definitely a rough early game to watch. Saying the champ is bad while not understanding them is really poor taste.
I agree my understanding of Naafiri is bad, but even NA's best Naafiri (Quantum) says she is trash too. She just has a terrible kit design for High Elo gaming.

Naafiri yeah the ability's long CDs feel bad. My thought is to get ride of the second cast and make her E trigger the crit if you land it, that way you have to commit to hitting them in order to get the damage off instead of saving it for repositioning or escape, or at least choose between burst or escape. Her W cast time also feels bad, Zed and Kat can go that distance in a blink and have resets/Cooldown charges depending on certain scenarios. I like her but, the loss of Draktharr really just killed her build. Maybe have to build her as a bruiser now? idk. Feels weird.

Honestly, Naafiri is probably one of the easiest assassins for a mage player to transition to. All of her actual damage is from landing double Q on people. Basically a skill shot nuke.

I tried Naafiri and couldn't make sense of her gameplay. I started strong poking Hwei and keeping him low but could never finish. Later when I had a few items I could get a few picks if I had ult but by end game the only person I could kill 1v1 was a fed Garen... I don't understand how but it happened.
Certainly fun to learn but rito did not improve in their designs. With how much mobility every champ has now and the best you get from Naafiri is a scaling range W point'n'click dash and a no range E for mobility she lacks escape. Q range is laughable with no utility in kit if you fall behind. At least with Talon or Akali you can dash out if you fail to kill or poke and outplay with their ranged abilities. Naafiri just feels broken when it's get fed or be useless till you have a bunch of low HP enemies to clean up after a teamfight.
They should shift power away from her dogs to her q especially early. But she scales so hard with her r's ad
Nearly all of her power is already in her Q. Double Q is like 80% of her actual damage lol. If you dont land a double Q hit on someone, you're not killing them.

that's why you have E, during early game Naafiri is supose to land Q insta reposition herself with E (heal dogs) and Q them again. Naafiri is super strong right now
God forbid an assassin have a weak laning phase, the dogs are already way too tanky after level 6 anyways.
The problem with Naafiri is because we can't control the little doggos like Lycan can in Dota.

I really want to play her but she feels so clunky. The requirement to hit Q-Q in close range makes it so that if you miss, you are completely useless. Her E feels like it has zero impact at all. Not even for clearing caster minions on level 6+
Maybe if they give her q an auto reset and ammo, or your attack procs the 2nd hit passive on your q so that you can q attack q attack
it'd give her more to do from the start, and assassin types are more or less like, if you fail to kill from the initial all in, you're all out.
maybe also put passive movement speed on her e but remove her e's dash and her ult's MS?
Maybe something unique on her passive like her dogs are untargetable and add to her ability damage, but they don't autoattack, and if Naafiri is auto'd, a dog dies and reduces incoming damage, sorta like Bone Plating?

I feel like Naafiri has the worst champ design they've come out with in a while. W, E, and R all make sense to some extent, but then they must have said, "wait, this champ can't lane!" and added a stupid line skillshot nuke that ended up being the sole damage dealing ability for the champ. Hit both and you're a god, hit one or none and you're giga-useless, but it doesn't matter because neither option is fun to play.
Yeah, the Double Q being all of her actual damage is really annoying.
