- In this video, we explore the realities of being a software engineer. While it's true that the job comes with great perks, including high salaries, free food, and cool gadgets, there are also downsides. We delve into the challenges of keeping up with the latest technology, the problem of burnout, and the prevalence of imposter syndrome. Through real-life examples and data, we see how these issues can affect the mental health and well-being of software engineers.
I have also attempted at providing tips on how to avoid burnout and overcome imposter syndrome, making this a must-watch for anyone considering a career in software engineering or any who is already a software engineer.

Amazing and a very informative video,Please make a video on video editing, your workflow, and the animations that popped in between .
Thank you
There should have been a chapter on job insecurity and layoffs too.
These are just icing on the cake and the actual cake is “the fear of layoffs” no matter how hard you work.
Frankly I wanted to include it. But then I thought I have already made a separate video on it so maybe I will stick to other things :)
But yeah, these days thats definitely one of the top 'frustrations' - which maybe temporary. For example if you asked about layoffs to a software engineer around 1.5 years back, they would have replied: "Whats that?" :P
Wow ! Just awesome 👍. I appreciate your empthatic nature towards employees. A lot many don't have these days, sadly.
I really felt you've made this video for many people like me. Imposter syndrome, LinkedIn unrealistic goals posts, burn out and many more.
I personally connected to a lot of things mentioned. I just hope that many people watch this, take a seat, relax, calm down for a few moments and think, yes think !
Missed watching your videos for the last couple of months. Make more content buddy, it does really help people.
I am really GLADDD you found it great and relatable! 😃
I am glad that you are putting such meaningful content. A lot of us struggle with various challenges at work & you have put it together in a very simplified manner. Keep it up.
Glad you liked!
Glad to see you are covering this aspects of our work life while every other youtubers are just glorifying and setting false expectations when its comes to software engineering. Good luck Gaurav !!! 👍🏻
Not sure about others but yeah, this video comes from personal experience :)
Amazing Video Sir
Thanks for this amazing video ❤️💯
Glad u liked! Please share with your friends!
@@100GB ya sure
Got to know new things, bhaiya can you make a video on the tech stack that you use in Google(present one not Android auto, I think you've switched to new) if possible? . Behind the code was amazing!
Hey no! I am still with Android Automotive!
@@100GB oh! My bad
If not software engineering which profession pays you so well? Tell me please ,not everyone can become a celebrity, not everyone can become a top sports player to get good sponsors. Lawyer, Engineer, or a Doctor. You see the frustrating aspect will be there but it will pay you and that's why people will keep pushing for it.
Awesome video!
Please share with your friends/colleagues!
can anyone tell what u do to be updated with latest technologies??
Its HARD!
the competition, the constant new tech, the constant need to improve, and the constant rejection, Im already burnout and i didnt get start my first job. Can you be a software engineer have a proper 9-5 or relax environment? or is it like this everywhere. Maybe this field is not for me.
"Can you be a software engineer have a proper 9-5 or relax environment?"
Thats a million dollar question. But I have a counter question for you. What do you do post 9-5? :P
@@100GB go outside touch some grass :)
Hello bhaiya i have heard in news that AI branches r going to open in iits nits etc,do u think AI will takeover cs in few years?
AI will take over a lot of things not just software engineering!
But guess what; by then we as humans will move on to some other stuff- that's what I believe :)
Bhaiya 1 question, locality achi hai USA ki ?
Aisa toh nhi hai durr ke dhol suhavane wale baat ? 😅😅
You may have got it right :). "Paisa" is a motivation which is now plenty, back there in India as well.
