Its always fascinating to learn how much time these guys have dedicated to master the art of clickbate headlines, fast paced editing and visual effects to capture peoples attention span and exploit our hardwired vulnerabilities. It would be interesting to know do they ever feel guilt or deep concern about addicting so many people into watching literally billions of hours of mindless entertainment just for the small spike of dopamine, instead any true fulfillment or real lasting satisfaction.🤔
Seems like a taboo subject in these interviews - while being the most obvious one. Jimmy clearly seems to be bothered that people only order fast food from his restaurants that will give them brain cancer, heart disease and diabetes on a global scale, instead buying the healthy options that they have. Seems a bit weird thing to celebrate, get excited about and to be proud of in our culture. Being the predator who hooks school children into gambling, mobile games or sugar just for the better ROI.💸
As entertaining and captivating as the videos may be, nowadays internet addiction is a very real problem affecting millions/billions of people everyday. These digital replacement therapies on a screen rob millions people of their real life achievements, good health, meaningful connection, true love and other priceless things in life. Is it wise to exploit kids and teenagers by making this content as addictive as possible, and turn our vulnerable youth into braindead consumers with 4 second attention span, with no social skills, poor sleep, bad health and unable to focus on their school, career and life full of laughter, love and real adventures?🏝
At 1:18:15 Jimmy questions how many of Lex's viewers are interested in this much talk about CZcams analytics, and I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed watching even though I don't care about CZcams analytics. I just enjoy watching passionate people talking about the things they're passionate about. There is a lot to learn by watching others who have dedicated their life to something specific, and just the general way they perceive the world and treat their experiences. You share a lot of insight that applies far outside of CZcams, so even though that is the specific topic of this conversation, everyone can take away something that will benefit them in their own unique situations.

my favorite part of these podcasts is that they're so interesting once you zoom in on them and really listen to what lex and mr beast are saying, but there are points in the convo where its like "alright, ima just head out, we're about to move to another point now" where you don't feel like you're really missing anything if you were to stop watching right there and then

Same here. I also am fascinated with the average mind. (I am on the spectrum) so I watched this video hoping to better understand what "normal" people like to watch, and maybe gain insight into the why they like it.
I have never watched Mr Beast before although I had heard the name. Now of course, I am going to have to watch a few to see what the fuss is about. Just on the surface, his thumbnails would not entice me in. His subjects do not grab me, but, that isn't a surprise given that I am not his target audience.
Lex does know his audience well. Many of us are just curious people interested in............anything interesting.

I thought I am more of a typical viewer in my mid-thirties. I watch this channel because as the saying goes, "About the ocean, you ask the fisher". And Lex does that perfectly- he invites guests who are experts in a field, and then goes in without prejudice or agenda and genuinely tries to understand whatever matter the guest is knowledgeable about. It's great with guests that share my interests, for the other guests, Lex' calm and relaxed voice and atmosphere makes the videos great to "just have on" in the background regardless.
Lex does know his audience. He knows we just want to learn. We are interested in anything and everything. Including 2 hours of youtube analytics.
Lex is obsessed with understanding the human mind. And Jimmy is one of the most special human minds. This is epic. Love you both, amazing podcast.

Hi Lex, I discovered your podcast in April and have been watching every day. Love your videos!You do a great job. The women scientists are some of my favorite guests.
I’m over 70, love the history, science and AI videos. When things get too technical I’m lost so I appreciate the time stamps. I’ve watched topics that I never thought I would be interested in. About the only videos I probably won’t watch are the martial arts and wrestling. Unless I get really desperate. Thats how I clicked on Mr Beast. I had never heard of him. Amazing that he’s only 24.

I loved all the geeking out topics on analytics, never boring topics watching these two masterminds interacting.
So this interviewer Lex is the literal GOAT. Bro gets 1 hour of sleep, tags along with the top CZcams creator of all time for an entire day after screwing up his flights. Puts in 2:12:29 of time with Mr. Beast and asks the most epic question I've heard on a podcast: "What role, Jimmy does love play in the human condition?" which caused Jimmy to smile and take a minute to answer. Love this in-depth podcast and will be watching all 350 others next.

I think they could've gone more in-depth on the analytics stuff. It might have caused some people to lose interest, but the point of this channel for me has always been to explore the depths of a particular person's expertise, because that's what makes the person special.
A huge chunk of the in-depth analytics stuff were already discussed by Mr Beast outside of this channel.

I’m also an engineer/business owner, so just the way people think, why they make choices, how to stand out, all of that is super interesting.

Nailed it. The only reason I'm here is out of curiosity and to explore interesting ideas. Whether it's game theory, complexity, quantum physics, psychology, or CZcams analytics... I find it all fascinating and am thoroughly enjoying deep diving into topics/conversations that I would otherwise be unable to have myself. Meaningful conversation seems all but extinct where I am, so the vicarious mental stimulation is very much appreciated. Keep up the good work Lex.

To be honest, at the beginning of the video, I was wondering what the Mr. Beast Happy Meal guy I found out about from my then six-year-old son (before I removed CZcams Kids from his iPad) was doing on this podcast, but then later on, I realized it is to share his marketing and content creation capabilities, built upon his own self-criticism and drive for continuous learning. It was a good video.

I find the youtube analytic talk very interesting and can't get enough of it, it's useful knowledge for a lot of people, to understand themselves better too and why they watch what kind of content and maybe even ask themselves what entertainment even means to them

It's not a knock on him or anything - why would he know since this has been his passion/career since he was young. I just don't think he realizes that almost every field has data analytics now, so the CZcams analytics discussion is interesting, even if we never plan to become content creators.

Mom demographic here…. representing a demographic who watches you both regularly. A mom making dinner, trying to raise two smart and imaginative boys, encompassed by a cool husband.. all these boys have a CZcams obsession. I like to think of myself as the outside CZcams and podcast garbage detector.

Mr Beast is a master at his craft. I’ve never been a regular viewer of his (mainly bc I’m never recommended that type of content). But the weird thing is every single time I’ve clicked on one of his videos, I’ve literally watched every single second of it even though its not really the kind of videos I like to watch. With a love for Lex's podcast and a son who wants to be a CZcamsr, hearing that the best approach is enthusiasm, repetitions, expirimentation, playfulness, an abundance approach to collaboration, authenticity, perseverance and building a team with a shared long term vision is really cool. Having it come from the most viewed person doesn't hurt. "I don't know, comment if you disagree" is a neat teaching by doing moment.

Lex has a genuine sense of curiousity and wonder about this world including but not limited to the many different characters and personalities of this world. He communicates with such an open heart and mind that even when the folks being interviewed are aware of his style, they seemingly are still caught off guard by the sheer ease with which his honesty flows in conversation, and how rarely the one being interviewed gets to see that is telling....
Lex is the beez kneez, Lex the goods, Lex an og kush real one, Lex the quality primo, definitely one of the top reasons i can listen or watch his shows straight through. Lex like a Joe Pesci, Lex doesn't eff around. Lex reminds me of a highly intelligent son of a bigsky in the russian mafiya, who rightly saw his sons talents were best suited for other outlets. hell maybe he doubles these interviews as an investment banker for the company hedge fund.

Did he yell at Lex and throw around sponsor money?
Ive always wondered how that first conversation went between Mr Beast and his family when he got his first substantial pay cheque from CZcams and he said, " I'm not saving any of this, I'm gonna spend all of it on my next video." That is probably the biggest risk to take in the CZcams world, and the biggest reason for his success. I know he got to a point where he was investing in other places, but those first bunch of videos would have consumed the majority of his money. That's having real faith in his vision.
Also, in nearly all other career it tends to be frowned upon to openly discuss how much money you make, but Jimmy realised very early on how sharing his income and outgoings is one of the best ways he's promoted his channel. Hearing how much he made and how much his next video was going to cost probably encouraged many people to subscribe and look forward to the next video.
Mr Beast and a lot in that generation repeatedly prove and remind all us older folk that the world has rapidly evolved and a lot of what applied 10years ago does not apply today.
And the best part is, at any time he could quit and live off the tail end of the video profits plus all the collective ad revenue from all the other sources and previous vids.. Therefore there's no need to keep any money right now, keep rolling it over on bigger and better videos!. its all gravy baby. Can't wait to watch him grow.

@Lucasworthmaster it's cool to see other influential people like Elon musk, andrew Schulz, and even the execs of CZcams, telling Mr beast that he's one of the best at creating CZcams content, and they even ask him for advice and tips on how to do it. I bet those compliments are massive boost for him to keep doing what he's doing and putting the work in.
It's just cool to see someone who I would have got on with if I was at school with him, being so successful in life. I've got Crohn's disease like Mr beast, and got it when I was 13 at school. It caused me to close a few doors, and think I wasn't capable of doing certain things in life. He's shown me I was wrong to think like that.
